3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
28th July 2009
Cloudy brown beer. Dry and softish palate. A real gob full is this beer! Soft oaky tones with just a touch of vanilla. Red wine richness. Bubblegum esters and Belgian sweetness. Slight tart fruits. Complex and interesting if not quite as joined up as it could be. Talk about mixing the grape and the grain - induced a foul hangover!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at the Alvinne pre Zythos event 09. Hazy amber. A bit winey on aroma. Itís ok, bit winey, almost white wine grapey so Iím guessing itís aged in Chardonnay barrels. Some vanilla. Pretty good. I have another bottle to try at home.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle, 75cl, courtesy of ChristianScheffel. An almost clear, golden beer with a white head. Alcohol, sweetness and honey on the nose, not particularly interesting. Sweet flavor with some honey, hops in the background. Warming, full-bodied and well-carbonated. Sweet, honey finish with some alcohol and bitterness. The beer doesnít present itself as very balanced, probably not the best beer to barrel. 090822
