No head - looking for all the world like a 20yr old, forgotten beer. UFOís abundant. Very old wine/old sherrylike, prematurely oxydized, like sour sherry. Sweet, lightly oxydized flavours, again sherry, but turning out not to be really sour. Completely flat, needs desperately some conditioning (BTW, bottle was filled to less than 1cm from the top). Alcoholburning, very slick, and of course very light-bodied. Impression as from partly dried unripe grapes on sherry. Whatever happened to this one?

Bottle@Home. Not a bad beer if you consider it as just a beer. Baring in mind that it was oak aged and stuff then itís pretty plain. Lots of sweetness, no complexity.

The color is warm golden with a little floating sediment. The aroma has notes of wood, red wine, raisin and fruit. The sweet flavor has notes of malt, candu sugar, raisin, red wine, wood, alcohol and grapefruit.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of ChristianScheffel. Hazy amber golden with tiny floating impurities and an off-white head. Sweet yet unclean fruity aroma. Full-bodied, a little low in carbonation, honey, fruit and flower notes. Distinct alcohol in the finish. Not sure that Melchior is all that suited for barrel aging. 220809

Had this at the Borefts Beer Festival, De Molen Brewery, Bodegraven, Netherlands 30-10-09 Pours orange/amber with a white head. The alcohol is quite heavy and this is a little sweet. Bit fruity with the wine cask influence a touch muted, I might have got a little woodiness Iím not entirely sure. A6 A3 F7 P4 Ov13 3.3

Dickinsonbeer (5076) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - SEP 12, 2010
Bottle shared by Goldtwins at PPSG 2010. Pours a hazed light copper with a thinning white head. Aroma is mineral, earth, toast, oak, spices, herbs, grass, old wood and some old fruits. Flavor is almost like unripe mango, green, woody mineral astringency and a slight grapeskin tartness in the end with some orange and apricot fruity esters all around.
