Bottle. Pours an orange color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity and sweetish spicy calvados aroma with some woody hints. Sweetish warming spicy yeasty oak flavor with weak hints of calvados. Has a warming malty spicy woody finish.

Bottle courtesy of Travlr. Red apple skin nose. Pours a cloudy, chunky from the yeast, bright, deep orange. Taste is like very good spiked unfiltered apple cider. Boozy, a bit syrupy on the palate. Very sweet with massive red apple character. It’s pretty damn good but if blind tasting I would put in under ice cider or something.

Hazy amber color, thin white head. Aroma of apple sauce and light spice. Taste is apples, cinnamon, some citrus. Interesting and complex, more like a cider than a beer.

Bottle. A hazy medium to dark golden beer iwth a large, rocky, fully lasting white head. Nicely sour aroma, moderately malty and with notes of oak, apples, Calvados, roasted grains, flowers, alcohol and spices. The flavour is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Calvados is evident, but the balance is fairly good. Medium to full body, lively carbonation, long finish with medium bitterness, moderately alcoholic. Slightly better than the regular Melchior, normally I’m not a fanatic of barrel aging, but this time was very well done.

dasilky1 tasting my bottle from a long ago international trade. Pours orangey with a tan ring. Nose is sweet with apple and oak. Taste is oaky, with sweet apple, very nice calvados barreled brew.

dasilky tasting, weeheavy bottle i believe. bit of an odd color. calvados barrel flavors were intense. utopias flavors in a much more mellow, watered down version i thought. herb, cognac malt, carmel, boozie flavors. iodine, and again, for me, utopias flavors. bit of a stretch but this is one unique brew.

Dasilky1 tasting. Dec 13th 2009. Bottle opened by WeeHeavySD. Thanks Jon! Deep yellow color. Maybe a little cloudy (I like cloudy for some reason). Some oxidation, which is nice. Leans dry. Somewhere between a saison and a Belgian triple. Fruity. Very good.

pours a muddy dark orange, thick white head. Nose was predominately fruity like apricot, mandarine orange, and cherry drizzled with complimenting notes of vanilla and oaky wood. Dry, woody, alcoholic fruit flavors...apricot/orange/nectarine...pretty boozy and very oaky with vanilla softness and essence of apple in the finish.

330ml Bottle - Hazy amber with a foamy head. Alcoholic aroma with peach and dried fruit. Fruity taste with peach, toffee, dried fruit and a moderate bitterness.
