3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at the Alvinne pre Zythos event 09. Bit of apple on aroma, way too much apple in the mouth. Just a bit too muh stewed apple and green apple flavour for me. May settle down after a few months in bottle.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, 75cl, at RBNG-14 Grand Tasting. An unclear, golden colored beer, flat as a pancake. Berries, honey and a generic fruityness in the aroma. Pretty vinous too. It’s full-bodied and almost flat, with boozy notes. Apricots, honey, vinous booze and some faint peppery notes in the flavor. Lasting boozy finish. Not sure about this one, I like the vinous touch although it’s too boozy, but then it’s too boozy... Nice aromas and flavors though. 140215

UPDATED: MAR 23, 2009 Bottle, 11.5%. Quite citric and vinous aroma, a bit like white wine. Hazy yellow colour. Very small white head. The flavour is quite vinous and grapey. Some citrus. OK refreshing. Vanilla aftertaste.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled 750ml (Alvinne shop, BB 01/2015)
Hazy copper-amber color, small mostly vanishing head. Aroma has lots of raisins, alcohol, cognac, riped apples. Medium-bodied. Alcoholic "bitterness", fruity with raisins and plums, hints of apples, lychee. Flavor is certainly similar to regular Melchior, but this is not so liquerish as it is and calvados barrel brings some extra sweetness. Heavy stuff with 11.5% ABV.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy amber color, thin white head. Aroma of apple sauce and light spice. Taste is apples, cinnamon, some citrus. Interesting and complex, more like a cider than a beer.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at ACBF 2011. Unfortunately, I was served from a bottle that had been opened the day before, and it seemed like the beer was not in its best condition. Pours glowing gold with a few lonely bubbles. Juicy, sour aroma, slightly funky. Has an odd flavor, lightly tart, slightly buttery, lightly sweet. Full bodied with soft carbonation, hot in the throat. Buttery finish, alcohol to spare, light dough, certainly warming. Wasn’t overly impressed.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. [thank you, harrisoni]
My first beer after a short-ish beer hiatus of nineteen days.
Pours a lovely, clear orange golden with a great, staying, creamy head. Mostly white, but with a slight yellow hue to it someplaces. I poured a bit more than I probably should, so a few large lumps of yeast plumped into the glass. Probably won’t make a difference. Head stays for quite a long time, descending slowly in a ring, leaving lacings on the glass and a cone in the middle. Lovely aroma. Lots of overripe apple, some oak, toffee, caramel malts and yeast. There is oranges, pineapple and other exotic fruit notes as well. Highish prickly carbonation, but still maintains a good oily feel. Flavour is quite vinious, but never really alcohol-heavy. Lots of apples again, mixed with lovely fat toffee and those yeast exotic fruit notes. Warming finish with very little bitterness. Very nice.
