(Bottled, 0.75l) Slightly hazy amber with a tiny, big-bubbly head. Mild, fruity aroma with apple and peach, a touch of citrusy hops, and some caramely maltiness. Lightly sour-grainy-malty, sweetish and very fruity flavor with apples, peaches, and oranges, very little bitterness. Alcohol quite well hidden. Medium to full body, flat CO2. The vanilla sourness in Mackmyra version was quite pleasant, but Calvados barrel seems just to add loads of fruitiness, pretty much reducing complexity of the original. Add the flat CO2, and youíll get a pretty dull and lifeless, although pleasantly fruity and rounded brew. 5336

Sampled at WtWBA Brooklyn 2012. Pours a hazy amber body with thin white lacing. Aroma is fruit, funk and oak. Mouthfeel is nice, with notes of sweet fruit, oak, earth, musk, toasted malts.

Bottle from Den Bierzolder. Glowing orange, small head, some sediment. The nose is very fruity with apples in the lead. Good complex calvados flavours, initially apples, later vanilla oakiness. Good dry finish. Full-bodied, alcohol is noticeable and warming. Fizzy. A beer that really develops in the mouth.

Bottled. Cloudy golden color, big head. Aroma of the spicy mustardy melchior, combined with oak aged notes and hint of green apples, some liquor, hint of yeast. Nicely balanced taste, fruity, slight yeast, the spicy mustard flowing through.

Bottled. Aroma has mustard, oak and calvados apples. Hazy, golden coloured beer with a lasting, white head. The taste is vinous, has apples, some spice and yeast. Better than expected.

The aroma is alcoholic with malt and a hint of mustard and earth. The taste is like the aroma with the mustard in the finish. The appearance is golden. Overall interesting and itís one of those beers that grows on you.

750mL bottle from Leukenís Oldsmar. Pours a hazy yellow with orange highlights and a swirl of white head. Nose is sweet malt, mustard, cognac, some barnyard, and some booze. It has distinct sour qualities to it that make me think it might have brett, but after exploring the beer a bit more, I believe it is more of the combination of the barrel with the mustard seed. Flavor is musty, malt, bretty quality, oak, cognac, and some tartness/ vinous quality. Calvados is nowhere near as pronounced as I anticipated for the stamp on the bottle. More cognac than calvados comes through. Light to medium-bodied and a strange take on this one.

(Bottle, 0.75 l, at the 16th Kerstbierfestival) The beer piured yellowish brown and cloudy. Its head was small, sparse and white. Aroma had malts, vanilla and apples. Palate was full bodied, warming and dry with low carbonation. Flavours were malts, vanilla, apples, sweetness, fruitiness, wood and bitterness. Aftertaste was woody and bitter. Quite weird combination of flavours that didnít work well enough.
