A Mes rate. Bottle from Alvinne but drunk with our Weasel over at his.
A murky orange blonde colour with a thin white head. Lovely aroma. Calvados a plenty with some good barrelly notes, slight spice and cinnamon plus an awesome sugary hit too. Excellent! The flavour follows on in an equally rich form. Big boozy hits work unusually well. Glorious sweet and sour finish. Bloody lovely.

Bottle - Sweet apple and light barrel notes. Cloudy gold with no head. Apples and some oak notes. More like a boozy cider. Not a fan.

Bottle. It pours cloudy golden with a creamy white head. The aroma is quite vinous, oak, caramel, acid, fresh fruit and citric hops. The flavour is sweet caramel, acid, brett, sweet fruit and oranges. Very good!

Bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a hazy peach color with a small white ring of bubbles. The aroma is tangy, tart fruits, woody, white grapes, with some herbal notes. The flavor has a burst of tart fruits, herbal, woody before the alcohol heat takes over. Much of the finish was dominated by alcohol. Medium bodied. Interesting, but too hot.

In short: An unusual woody big amber ale
How: Bottle 750ml, consumed when probably around one year of age
The look: Cloudy amber body topped by a small off-white head
In long: Nose is strange, the base beer is unusual with a strange spiciness and a woody character that is like the smell of a woodshop. Taste is grape skin, a lot of wood, notes of white wine, smooth hard-to-name spiciness, Granny Smith apples, banana peels, a bit of booze. Woody dryness in the finish. Not a complex beer by any means but it was certainly not boring, actually it was kind of weird. It was also surprisingly drinkable for an 11.5% beer. Strangely drinkable, the beer is weird but also not very tasty/intense so I went through a 750ml quite easily even if this wasnít particularly exiting. Not bad but certainly not worth the hefty price tag3, but itís alright Iíll have plenty of money soon, I told my boss I deserve a raise, Iíve been working here for over 3 years and I worked really hard yesterday.

Clear orange beer, big creamy irregular off-white head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots of bretta, lemony, sour apples, dusty, some alcohol, apple skin, wood. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: bit sourish start, grapes, white wine, alcohol, bitter touch, green apple skin, wood, tannins. Aftertaste: bitter, wood, alcohol, biter hops, some more alcohol, tannins. The calvados is very noticeable on this one.
