3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 MaltDawg (1344) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - JAN 18, 2009
Date: 11/11/2008 Source:Other Ale brewed with mustard seed. Fruity citrus nose with spice and hint of alcohol almost wine like. Cloudy amber golden. Chunks of stuff floating around in the glass. Spicy with hints of mustard and wood. Interesting flavor profile. Would have preferred the beer clear without all the chunks.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 maniac (3474) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JAN 16, 2009
Bottle from Wine Warehouse - Charlottesville on 10/22/2008. Chunky golden amber body with a medium creamy off-white head. Sweet caramel and winey aroma with lots of candi sugar. More sweet caramel flavor, some spice, somewhat sharp sugary hints and fairly spicy notes. Medium body with moderate carbonation that’s fairly prickly.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 harrisoni (9609) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - JAN 14, 2009
33cl bottle from Dranken Geers. Hazy amber, some floaters, lasting thick beige head. Belgian yeast syrupy malt and hoppy aroma. Raisiny juicy sultana fruity aroma dominates. Reasonably smooth in the mouth, good smooth fruit and then really very hoppy on the finish for a Belgian beer. For an 11% beer, the alcohol isn’t obvious at all. Aroma gets a 7, interesting yeast character, appearance only a 2, the flavour is amazingly smooth. Seems to be a very settled beer. But the best thing is the palate and the finish. Silky smooth on the swallow with some fine carbonation and then this biting stinging hop that just sings beautifully on the end. Really interesting characterful beer with an amazingly good mouthfeel and I cannot speak highly enough of that hoppy finish. Tastes dry hopped in the bottle if that was possible.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Drake (4803) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - DEC 30, 2008
11.2 ounce bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville, VA.
Pours an orangish color with lots of sediment. Great lacing and
head retention. Musty herbal aroma with definite mustard aromas.
The taste starts off sweet with herbal and mustard notes in the
finish. Slightly tart. Note alcohol noticeable, which is
impressive, though it does have a slight warming quality. Full
bodied. Very nice beer.
