Bottle sample poured by Glenn at the brewery - thanks Glenn!
Amber/orange color with a large white head that settles quickly to tiny bubbles with great lacing.
Aroma is very subtle, mainly just light malts and yeast, not much hops evident.
Bitterness and hops come through in he mouth, nice malt, well-balanced.
Good body.
Definitely a nice double IPA or barleywine, even without the oak.
4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 dnstone (1467) - Mons, BELGIUM - DEC 7, 2009
Sweet and fruity-orangey aroma. Murky/hazy orange-brownish color with excellent pillowy, lasting white head. It is sweet and spicey; dry fruit and orange with cinnamon and nutmeg. Smooth with a strong alcohol content that is well hidden.

(bottle into trappist glass) From the first hint of the pour, I could tell that the carbonation was going to be off the chart and there was no disappointment there! There was no head to speak of, but the CO2 stuck right to the side of the glass the whole time. First hints of aroma were very off-putting as the main waft was that of cheese...never a good sign. Being a trooper, I pressed on, however, and found that the flavor was not too bad, if you love the aftertaste of the alcohol. I was about to give up, but found on another sip before the drain that sitting DID indeed mellow this initial alcohol taste and more of the subtle grain flavor cam forward. However, for advertising that it is brewed with mustard seeds, I could not tell at all. There was no hint of mustard at all in this drink. I would recommend letting this one air for a while before drinking for the flavors to mellow and mingle a tad first.

Bottle ( 330ml ). Shared with blankboy and garthicus, via trade with glouglouburp. Murky gold pour, plenty of floaties, smallish lasting creamy off-white head. Grassy heather aroma overlaying yeasty sweetness - no mustard here. The taste follows - quite pungent, but mustard? nah. Solid body, spicy/yeasty dry astringency, mild carbonation, a long sharply bitter finish. Decent enough.
