COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep ruby brown hued, lightly hazy, artisanal Flemish sour ale. Expect soft toasty malt presence, a light sweetness, and a pronounced acidic tartness. A woody ale that’s remarkably tart! Yet still both gentle and bright. This mega-rare version is aged in French Monbazillac barrels, imparting a dry, woody, fruity, tart, strawberry like finish

Draft on tap at Bavarian Lodge (Lisle, IL). Belgian fest rare find. Sweet! Pours a rich ruby hue, glowing rich red and garnet meet some decent haze. A striking deep glow with a decent sized tannish head atop that dies to a decent film, laces pretty well. Aromas are a blending of cherries and strawberries, sour acidity, lemons and touches of vinegar. Rich oak and touches of wine, with healthy wood and earth. A touch of biscuit and sweeter malt shows through but kinda runs into quite the inviting fruity berry essence, in particular strawberry. Initial is medium bodied, perhaps a touch lighter offering some dryness up front, gentle sourness and light acidity mixes with strawberries, cherries, and touches of biscuits. Earth and dryness mix into the fold, gentle lactic presence, rich oaky tannic presence. Not overly dry, but a very earthy appeal with some wine like jabs. Gets a bit more biscuity into the finish, showing some malt base essence. Overall, a gentler version of the Undressed I had previously here, less sour and potent, more gentle but seems fairly complex on the palate, perhaps a bit light on body but I rather enjoyed it. The Monbazillac really adds some interesting elements, in particular the strawberry. Nice beer.

At HaandBryggeriet Beer Festival, Drammen. Very dark brown colour, cloudy. No head nor carbonation. The aroma has notes of red wine, red wine vinegar and oak. The flavour has the same elements as the aroma, distinct acidity but not extreme. Quite tasty, but to be honest I’d probably prefer this as a salad dressing rather than a drinking beer.
