Bottled 330ml. -from Pivoteka Zagreb. Hazy orange/golden coloured, small to medium sized off-white head, sourish fruity nose. Popcorn like taste with notes of sour fruits and caramel. Slight spicy and mild acidic yeasty finish. Probably something went wrong here.

Saisons are sturdy farmhouse ale that was traditionally brewed in the winter, to be consumed throughout the summer months. Not so long ago it was close to being an endangered style, but over recent years there’s been a massive revival; especially in the US. This is a very complex style; many are very fruity in the aroma and flavor. Look for earthy yeast tones, mild to moderate tartness. Lots of spice and with a medium bitterness. They tend to be semi-dry with many only having touch of sweetness.

Lemon, oak, and funk aromas in that order. Clear amber, thin head. Intense tartness, lemon and crabapple. Oak and green apple finish with some very subtle farmhouse funk. Light body, soft carbonation. Elegant and well done sour. Nice complexity and intensity while preserving subtlety.

11.2 ounce bottle from State Line shared at a tasting, 5/4/15. Hazy orange, thin fizzy off-white head, decent retention. Aroma of funk, cheese, grape, apricots, pale malt and, oddly, corn. The taste is tart lemon, citrus, funk, pepper, cheese. Thin bodied, low carbonation, strong lingering tartness.

On tap at Haandbryggeriet Beer Festival 2015. Thanks to Bergstaden for the share. Clear golden body under a filmy layer. Smell of farmyard and earthy malts with citric hints. Sour fruity flavours, grapes and lemon. Prolonged ending. Oily palate. Palate cleanser (Drammen 30.05.2015).

Säuerlicher Antrunk, vollmundig, süffig. Hell, rund fruchtig, dann wird die Säure eher trocken, etwas Orange. Es fehlt etwas Pepp, insgesamt aber gut. 11/10/11/9/7/10

Slightly hazy medium golden body with a small, white head that laces the glass well. Strong and sour aroma of tart fruits and barnyard. Moderate flavour of acidic fruits, tartness, funkiness, soap and perfume. Light and dry on the palate. Ok+.
[sample from tap, probably shared with a thirsty buddy @ Haand ølfestival, Drammen]

330mL bottle from Slowbeer. Pours a clear pale gold body, holding tight white head. Restrained aroma, certainly funky though - citrus rind, cheesy, barnyard, hay/grass paddock, bruised pineapple Bretty character, some toasty malt in the works. Medium light body, certainly sour - mouth-puckering citric twang, slightly lactic, faintly acetic. Creamy carbonation. More funk on the body - lemon rind, Parmesan, hay, white wine vinegar, natural yoghurt. Finishes a tad abruptly, a touch of minerality. Enjoyed this one - not quite Lambic in intensity or complexity, but parallels can certainly be made.
