4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Very dark brown with a fine dense light brown head. Aroma is sweet malty with notes of salty olives, some dark fruits and a little bit of port wine. Flavor of roasted malts and chocolate on a sweet fruity base which makes this one different from other imp stouts. Bitter roasted malts in the finish leading to a warming aftertasted of toasted bread added a bit of marmalade. Very rich and fullbodied.

This is another not Belgium beer. But I find drinking it is not so bad. Much sugar for a belgium beer. Too much alcohol that is not in Westernvelterban trappist beer. I would be drinking fruity Belgium instead of roast, but not here.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Dark ruby body with some micro-floaties and a tan head. Chocolate, mocha, coffee, sweetness, dried fruits and some hops in the aroma. A bit weaker flavor, but still very nice, with a good dash of sweetness, some dryish coffee, burnt malt and chocolate. Full-bodied beer with a both sweet and dry finish. A really nice imperial stout, but with a Belgian twist, leaving it a bit too sweet for my taste. It is a beer Podge should be proud to have his name on. (070430)

Brux 07. Pours black with a small off-white, diminishing head. Medium sweetness with a light Belgian, yeasty sourness. Aromas of roasted malts and slightly bready. Perfumed hoppiness. Also aromas of prunes, dates and pears. Stron alcohol aromas. Rather flat with a dry, slightly metallic, alcohol finish.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma maltato con sentori di uva e liquirizia. Al palato si presenta inizialmente con il dolce dei malti scuri e sentori di liquirizia e caffè. L’elevata gradazione alcolica è ben mascherata

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Dark, almost black coloured with no carbonation and almost no head. Sweet, buttery dry aroma. Full roasted palate. Finish is roasted, bitter. Not really my kind of beer, but maybe a poor conditioned bottle.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle @ Delirium. Poured black with just a few bubbles on top. Awesome aroma of dry red wine and coffee. Flavor is fairly sweet, starts fruity, then tasty dark malts, chocolate, black coffee. Thick, creamy mouthfeel. Thankfully low carbonation, unlike some other Belgian stouts. Not much bitterness, but it carries itself well anyway. Sweet, thick and tasty.

Bottle purchased @ Bierkoning, Amsterdam, then consumed in the hotel. Near black, a slightly darker white head. Chocolate, espresso and yeast induced fruits in the nose. Nice mouthfeel. A stout wth a great Belgian feel.
