Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours an almost clear reddish brown with a light brown head. Distinct oak in the nose. Quite full-bodied, sweet dried fruit and a pleasant vinous sourness. Soft mouthfeel and a warming alcoholic finish. Very delicious. 220809

30/07/2015 @Centerparcs – 50cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck Black with very small tanned head, small lacing after that. Burder malts, coffee, light licorice and small hints of sourness and wine. First sips I didn’t like but it became better and better

Special edition. Only 9% abv. Pours black with a 2 finger head of tan foam sitting on top. I get some fruity tartness and roasted malt up front with a mild nose of wood. The tartness is the first thing I notice in the taste followed by roasted malt, dark chocolate bitterness, and some wood from the oak. All of the flavours seem to working together nicely and the alcohol is not in your face. Just some warming after each of the swallows. Close to full bodied with medium to medium light carbonation. I do like this offering from Alvinne.

Sampled draft @ ACBF 2015. Tried as Alvinne The Oak Podge. Finally got to try one of these Podge beers. This is my 68th Alvinne beer & the regular Podge is their most rated beer & I have never had. Black, little mocha bubbles. Nose is iron, liquorish, herbal, sweet thick, little molasses. Taste is sweet sugar, liquorish, light herbal, molasses sticky, sweet herbal, coffee, not picking up much wine. Thick malt body. Pretty decent & enjoyable. (Thanks for sharing people!!!)

Draught. This is a nice little impy that checks all the boxes but failed to really excite me.
