Bottle from De Bierloods, Adegem. Almost black with a beige head. Intense vinous fruit aroma blending with vanilla and chocolate. Vinous fruit flavours have the upper hand, but lots of vanilla also. Warming alcohol. Seriously good.

Cloudy brown beer, good pale tan head. Comparatively light palate. Crispy and semi dry. Hardly any dark malt here. Lots of red wine. Minerals. A little wood in the back end. Mild aniseed alcohol. Semi dry finish. The base beer is overwhelmed by the barrel. But still very nice!

Bottle, 10cl, at BAJT porter week 2012. Murky brown, almost no head. Nice thick aroma with licorice, a difficult to pinpoint wine character and chocolate. Taste: licorice, chocolate, vinous, dark and red berries, sweet, light boozy. Nice, with a heavy barrel influence.

Bottled at Bishops Arms Järntorget, Göteborg, during "Porterveckan 2012". Sold by 5 or 10 cl, I had 5. On November 25, 2012.
Dark brown to black color, tan head. Sweet, malty, alcohol scent. Malty, vinous taste. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterness.

75cl bottle, pours black brown with a fine clingy beige head, aroma of wine barrel, coffee, and caramel, rich and smoky body, wood and old wine, light tartness, coffee and treacle, earthy alcohol notes, great complex flavour though very light finish.

75 cl bottle from Etre Gourmet. Deep dark red/brown beer with a beige head. Woody vinous aroma, chocolate, red currant, licorice, vanilla, wild strawberries, grapes, roasted, some milk chocolate, sweetish. Fruity woody flavor, vanilla, dry oak, wild strawberries, vinous, chocolate, vanilla, grapes, some viol. Maybe lacking a little body, but otherwise very interesting.

Bottle shared by Thorpe429. Thanks Mike! I am so glad to get to try this, as on my travels a while back, I foolishly passed up an opportunity to buy this off the shelf. A: The beer appears a dark chestnut hue, definitely not black in any way, as is typical of an imperial stout. The thin, beige head perches atop the beer and has an appearance akin to a coffee crema. S: Smells include roasted malt, bourbon, and oak. Very enticing. T: I must say, this is not your typical imperial stout. The Oak Podge is certainly unique, and I really like it. The oak, roast and bourbon aspects meld together harmoniously. M: Alcohol content hidden masterfully. Nice feel. D: I definitely recommend this tasty and unique beer. Had as "The Alvinne Oak Podge" .. . Pours a deep brown .. good lord, gusher! lots of thin bubbles on the pour .. whiffs of tar and cherry skin and pits .. . infected quite a bit but if you can get past the horrid carbonation, weirdly tasty .. not the first infected beer i’ve had from Alvinne .. . . did you throw your burrito out the window?

Bottle thanks to the wold. Pours dark brown with dense tan coloured head. Aromas are a little odd. Some roasted grain, a little chocolate and perhhaps some red wine sourness. Nothing overly special here. Flavours are very watery with some roasted grain and a touch of bitterness. Thin mouthfeel. Alcohol on the finish. Ordinary

Cremosa i amb xocolata, regalessia i un punt de poma. Notes de barrica. Molt complexa. Gran.
