Bottle. Pour is cloudy brown with an enormous brown head. This bottle elected itself for consumption. I got it home form the store and heard a steady hiss coming from my bottle haul; it was this one leaking. Gusher anyway. Aroma is roasted malt, tannins, light sourness, faint alcohol, light wood, and red wine. Flavor is wine, alcohol, light sourness, fruits, and light acidity. I just had a glass of wine and this really is wonderful after that. Very smooth and balanced. Like wine, only much better.

Bottle at tasting. Pitch black pour, creamy tan head that leaves lacing. Aroma of leather, bourbon, pineapple, apple, vanilla, oak, butter and caramel. Flavor of buttery bitterness, some fruity sweetness, leather, bourbon, oak, wine, vanilla and more barrel artefacts make this quite a full flavored brew. Creamy texture and medium carbonation. Nice brew.

Bottle: Poured a black brown with a light tan head. Sweet wine barrel aroma hits you with fruit. Taste is dark fruits with that winey oak barrel and malt finish.

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle. This is a beer I had high expectations for. The beer pours a dark red color with a tan head. The aroma is very complex. I get some caramel malt, oak, port wine, maple, vanilla and alcohol. Every time I smell the beer I get something new. The flavor is just as complex. The dominant flavor is port wine along with some vanilla, maple, dark fruit, caramel and oak notes. The beer has a nice wine-like quality and is extremely drinkable for 10.5 percent. The alcohol is very well hidden. Thin to medium mouthfeel and low carbonation.

Wow, thanks to lance for the taster, very sweet wine aroma, this is interesting for an Imperial Stout. Sour, not much of a roasty taste. I’m not sure how to explain this, but interesting. It has a wine flavor, and yet maintains a lot of its stout qualities. Even though I think this better fits an Imperial Porter than a Imperial Stout. I still like it.
