Assaggio da 100ml allo Zythos Beer Festival 2015: Capisco poco questa birra. Colore scuro, aroma orrendo di olive in salamoia. In bocca acidità, un pizzico di salato e frizzantezza. A mio parere imbevibile.

Flavor is slightly roasty, burnt bread, dark ripe fruits and acidic mouthfeel with red wine notes. acidic final with slightly hints and some acidic at the end. Very nice!.

Bottle. Brownish black beer with brown, easily disappearing head. Aromas of roasted malts, coffee, dark fruits, plums, some sour, wild notes. Moderately sour, with medium bitterness, fruity. Over-carbonated, medium bodied, alcohol is very well hidden, aftertaste somewhat tannic. Very interesting, complex beer.

(draught) hazy deep brown colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of pumpernickel, brown sugar and cherry stones, with lots of vinegar, some light floral hops, roasted malts and hazelnuts. flavour is mostly cherry stones, oxidized meat and straw, with a hint of tobacco, some very light alcohol and a dry finish. medium- to heavy-bodied with soft carbonation.

Overcarbonated bottle; a gusher. Aroma of cherries, raisins, barnyard, acetic, leathery and a little toasty. Quite sour. Unpleasant burnt plastic aftertaste. I would guess the Brett phenolic compounds don’t mix well with their combination of heavily roasted malts.

330 ml bottle shared during Brussels vacation. Slightly hazy dark amber with beige head. Aroma has apples, light roasted notes, vinous, light chocolate and some tart notes. Taste is very complex and very well balanced. Light chocolate, apples, perfect level of acidity with a tart roasty finish. Incredible

Bottle. Black with enormous, very fuzzy beige head. Because of the night carbonation also some sediment is rising to the top. Brown bread, roasted nuts, lots of sour red berries and gooseberries. Very fruity with some hint of toast and old coffee towards the finish. Later some plastic and burnt rubber. Medium sour. Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. Not too complex, but srinkable beer. Alcohol is well hidden. I’m still not a huge fan of sour beers with dark malts but here it works reasonably well.

Pours dark brown with a good sized light tan head. The aroma cherries, coffee, tartness, berries and fruit sugar. It has a medium / full body with some crispness from the frothy carbonation. The flavor starts with chocolate, caramel, sharp berry fruit, vinegar, yogurt tartness and a bit of spice. The finish has more tart qualities, slick malt and a lingering weird sourness. Decent, but not the normal sour beer sort of thing.
