Bouteille 33cl, BB 03/2016.

8/11/11/10//11

Bottle opens with a gush and pours dark brown black with a huge 3-4 finger tan head. Nose is dark grain, berries, vinous tartness, grape, wine, cola, earthy soil. Taste is extremely carbonated, almost too much so, layered dark tart vinous fruit, earthy cola, touches of bitter cherry chocolate, acidic tartness, metallic note. Finish is dark grains, cherry coke, earthy cocoa, dirt, red wine, grape, berry.

Bottle @ benzai with dutchdrebus. Brown color with a beige head but fast down. Smells sour, chemical, get tears in my eyes. Tastes fruity, sour, vinnegar. Too much carbo

Bottle from bieresgourmet.be webshop. Pours a deep red-hued brown body with a massive, short-lived bubbly-foamy light beige head. Nose is wet moss, paper glue, wood, red wine, soy sauce, coconut and hints of pepper and herbal salts. The weirdness! :-P Taste is sour lactic notes, wood, soy sauce, red wine-ish tart berry tones, grains and hints of citric peel, herbs and mineral salts. Medium body, fizzy carbonation. Truly a strange sour, hard to determine whether this is the brewer’s intention or not... :-P Original, but not entirely convincing.

Alone at home. Brown colored beer with large fast diminishing brownish head and lots of very active and loud carbonation. Fruity yeast and malty aroma. Full sour sparkling palate. Finish is very sour malty with some roasty hints ending dry. Nice one!

Bottle. Weirder. Smells smoky, sweet and sour, minerals. Treacle and caramel. Sour and smoky. My first experience of that. Bit of chocolate with the yeast. All over the place but charming for it.

Drank at a beertour through Belgium with Thijs, Marijn and Peter. Sour taste with a nice sweet aftertaste. No foam. The beer is well-balanced, with not too expressive sourness and a nice bourbon-like finish. Good, but I just don’t like sours.
