[6277-20140420] Tap. Brown fruity malt aroma. Murky, dark brown body with a quick foamy off-white head. Sour malty fruit flavour has a long sour fruit aftertaste. Medium body. Very tasty and balanced. (7/3/8+/4/16) 3.8

Apparently an experimental, unhopped edition of their Cuvée Freddy, with off-white, very thin and very quickly dissolving foam, and a hazy dark brown colour. Aroma of nutty malts, coarse red wine, sour cherries, leather, chocolatey malts, soy sauce, red berries. Bready and nutty maltiness and estery fruitiness in the mouth, light smokiness, lactic acidity as wel as a lemony sourishness, drying the finish, vinous. Weird and not too suitable for my taste buds. I still prefer a beer with hops, I guess.

2014-04-20. Hazy dark brown body near headless. Aroma has a lightly musty lactic character. Notes of cherry pits and black cherry. Flavour is pleasantly sour, lactic character has cherry like fruit character. Average plus to medium bodied palate, very soft carbonation. On tap as Alvinne Wild Freddy at Proletariat, NYC.

Draft on tap at Local Option Salad Days event (Chicago, IL). Quick stop in to rate this bad boy. Pours a rich deep ruby brown hue, some tranparency and glow on the edges, but some haze and darkness in the body. A frothy tannish light brown head dies to a firm film, laces well. Aromas are sour fruit, currants and strawberries assault the nose, sweet and tart with some biscuit, earthy toffee, mellow sweetness. Touches of toast, yogurt, and mellow red fruit. Touches of carmelized malts, some gentle earthy brown malt. Initial is medium bodied offering a firm sourness, mellow tart berries, currant, and jam touch up front. A twang of lactic acidity, mellow touches of metallic elements. Dry and unyielding, into the middle some of that sticky sweet malt body makes an appearance. Sticky toffee, brown malts, earth. Faint cocoa, firm toast, carmelized malts and biscuits. Gentle yeasty dryness and earthy quality. Backend brings a return of a lactic twang, dry and tart. Touch of heat and dryness really stick into the finish, mellow jammy berry fruit, tart and enjoyable, earthy brown and darker malts. Pretty good, would give the edge to regular Cuvee. Still, these elements play well despite a sharp contrast. I do enjoy the fresh red berry/lactic play with the darker earthy malts that give a touch of girth on the palate. Interesting.

On tap at local option. Pours a cloudy dark brown with a fizzy dark brown head that dissipates completely. Aroma has some dark grains and molasses and a bit of sour red fruit. Flavor begins with dark grains and molasses but finishes with a strong sour red fruit note. Beer seems surprisingly flat.

Draft at blue monk, darker pour, chocolate notes, dried fruits, Red wine notes in both aroma and flavor. Tastes like chocolate mixed with red wine. Slight tartness. Ok

Draft at Churchkey. Chestnut colored pour. The nose and flavor were marked with roasted malt, coffee, tart prune, and more dark fruit and vinous notes. A touch thin on the palate, didn’t really impress me at all.

Brown flat color. Sour notes. More mild then I’d expect. Not my favorite. Wouldn’t have it again
