diabel (1188), Aarschot, Belgium Feb 27, 2008 Updated: Feb 29, 2008 Bottle (as Gertrudis Tripel) Gusher. Muddy orange body. Off-white creamy/fizzy head. Ok lace. Aroma of orange with some caramel. Moderately bitter, lightly sweet flavour with some citric hints (and anise). Quite watery and tart. Not very intense, nor complex. This is not what I would call a tripel, but I don’t mind too much about styles.

Cloudy orange with a small white head. Fruity and spicy nose with some citrus. A rather sweet but spicy flavor with fruitiness (banana, citrus), a bit of yeast and mild hoppiness and a bit of alcohol in the finish. Medium-bodied. Nice but lacks a bit of character. I should mention this was a week-old bottle.
