4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 sayravai (4548) - Helsinki, - JAN 30, 2006
UPDATED: MAR 17, 2007 (Bottled) Opaque orange color with a small, lacy head. Crisp, spicy, orangey, alcoholic aroma. Thick-malty, sweetish, very fruity flavor with some alcohol and acidity. Long, spicy, sticky-tickling-sweet aftertaste. Medium to full-bodied, slightly barley-wineous palate with soft carbonation. A brew with great personality - and enough balance to be enjoyable. A real bang for the buck, with no ingredients spared! Seems to vary in quality, as the second encounter was quite alcoholic and not nearly as fruity.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Rune (4924) - Tromsø, NORWAY - SEP 14, 2011
330ml bottle, vintage 2007, 8.7% abv., bb. Nov. 2011 bought at The Bottle Shop in Brugge. Served comfortably chilled in a tulip glass at home. Big, airy white head, slowly dissipating. Cloudy, orange-grey body. Good lacing to the glassware. Sweet spiced orange fruits to the nose. Lemon and orange taste with underlying hints of spices. Half-dry, bittersweet ending. Foamy in the mouth. Mostly covered alcohol. Refreshing and pleasurable (Tromsø, 27.08.2011).

Bottled, 330ml from Hopduvel Warehouse, Ghent. Bronze amber wuth white head. Really spicy aroma with a volcanic opening of the bottle, loads of condition. Spicy flavours right from the start with a candied yeasty hint, some sweetness but not overly. A big, bold tripel, plenty of depth, really pretty decent.

[330ml bottle from Beers of Europe at 8.7% ABV] My first beer from a "picobrewery", although given that it’s distributing to England it’s probably not as "pico" as it proclaims itself to be. Orangey-gold, slight white head, moderate fizz. Aroma of chardonnay and banana. Big hit of ginger on the first taste which fades to give… yep, more chardonnay. There’s some welcome bursts of juicy oranges, a slight dryness, some bread, and a slight but lasting mineral bitterness in the finish. Overwhelming impression is of a lightly hopped white wine! Disconcerting, and although it grew on me a little I couldn’t decide if I liked it or not. On balance, probably not.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Bloekie (191) - BELGIUM - JUL 17, 2010
Very good basic Tripel. Pours a little hazy with a lot of carbonation. The line between beer and head is very squigly, which I don’t like that much. Overall a very good beer which I will most likely drink again!

A Triple that’s not as pale as usual and has a bronze tan. Aroma is pretty funky and a bit earthy and rustic , with a bit of a Saison/Bier ’ de garde character. Fruity and spicy smellz. Earth and subtle barnyard and lotta malt evident. Flavaz open malty rich , leading to dry mustiness and a complex fruit (green apple.peach) type of esters kick ..and pretty tart , spicy cloying finish . a throwback to the old rusticity of things. . This is cool. maybe my bottle is infected or maybe its just a very wacky beer not brewed to style. Vibrant , funky and very drinkable .
