   AROMA 5/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 5/10   PALATE 4/5   OVERALL 12/20
Palme (3385) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUL 17, 2014
0.5l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. Only a thin quickly long gone near translucent and thinly sidesticking top here. When pouring it in the glass it looks just like pouring olive oil in a glass. As thick and viscous as any beer I’ve ever seen. It’s cloudy and dark dark bronze in color. The aroma is present. Really present. Doesn’t really have to smell the glass, the aroma comes to you. I get lots of grass. Herbal grass here. It’s super earthy and it reminds me of wet soil and rotten tree berries. Some sweetess also in here. Strange stuff. It’s sharp and vinegar-like in the taste. It doesn’t really feel like motor oil in the mouth but it’s definitely thick and oily. Small bubbles just below average on the carbonation. Yeah, red wine vinegar with sharp pickled salted lemons. Sour leafs and wood. Ends with old french cheese. A bit strange this not sure if I’m really liking it as much as I should. 19.03.2014

Theydon_Bois (8746) - The ’Sham, Surrey, ENGLAND - APR 10, 2014
Bottle, thanks to Andy Snow, split at Colin and the Vikings tasting, Nol, Goteborg, Sweden 22/03/14. Mahogany brown with moderate light tan edgeing and spotting. Nose is tarte red berry fruit, fruit balsams, fruit loaf, woody twang, ripe cherry, light must. Taste comprises dark berry balsams, red wine tinge, dank woody notes, acidic tone. Medim bodied, fine carbonation, soured fruit rinse in the close. Ok sour, a little too acidic for my liking, not the best balance but drinkable none the less.

jmgreenuk (4473) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - MAR 22, 2014
Bottle at the "Colin and the Vikings tasting, Goteborg". Poured a murky dark brown with a round off white head. The aroma is light sour vinegar, vinous. The flavour is strong sour with a clean smooth vinous vinegar like palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Not a lot of flavours but the ones that there are are very good!

_angst_ (2798) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAR 22, 2014
Bottle courtesy of AndySnow. Pours murky reddish brown with a small creamy reddish brown head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is sour and malty with dark bread, red wine vinegar, moist hay, dark grapes, lemon juice, dry soil, leather, moist wood and hints of grapefruit juice. Taste is sour, malty and fruity with dark bread, red wine vinegar, lemon juice, raisins, prunes, oatmeal cookies, raisin bran, liquorice root, moist hay, moist wood and hints of burnt caramel. Mouthfeel is soft, round, tart, tiny mouth-puckering and medium bodied. finish is sour and malty with dark bread, caramel, oatmeal bran, red wine vinegar, moist wood, hay and moist soil. Very acetic but I don’t have a huge problem with that.

Inbreak (2133) - Loddefjord, NORWAY - MAR 20, 2014
19.03.2014, 0,5l bottle sampled @ BBGTC tasting:
No head, looks like pouring vegetable oil, with no sound or splashing when pouring. Strange! Aroma is kind of sour-ish earthy, old fallen leafs late in the autumn, boiled vegetables, sour berries, unripe banana, oak, paint, heather. Taste is very acidic sour, sorrel, raw rhubarb, grass, oak, soda powder, hay, paint. Medium bitterness, nice acidity, very thick dense mouthfeel without being oily. Very strange and even more interesting.

Pours a very viscous dark coppery woth no head. Aroma is like forests in the fall, wet leaves and a woody, lightly sour fruityness. Taste is moderate sour. Slick on the palate. Very special these beers from Alvinne..
