This very interesting beer was on draft at THE LOCAL Beer Bar in Eureka, CA. It came in the glass a dark garnet color with a pinkish head. Light lacing rings. The nose is wild smelling, with some hints of vinegar and wine .Medium in body with a lively mouthfeel. The flavor is tart and sour, with some light fruit, and earthiness. The finish is sour fruit and funk. Really interesting and delicious “wild beer”. Love these kind or sours.

from Erzbierschof - very dark beer with a long lasting dark beige foam; roasted chocolate is dominated by sourish cherries and hints of vinegar; moderate malt backbone, low carbonation and creamy palate; late and solid sourness; short aftertaste of vinegar - weird and not my type of beer

Countbeer (4302) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - OCT 10, 2012
Bottle: Thanks Roman, Medium sized nutty caramel light brown colored lively head on top of a deep dark and murky brown colored beer. Smell manure, chocolate, yeast, light sour tint, barleys, dark candy sweetness (toffee, caramel) but overpowered by the sour yeasty nose. Taste light tartness, yeasty tart/sour, malty sour, grainy sour, hint of liquorice, caramel and barleys. Unbalanced. There’s a nasty stingy bitter malty tone. Aftertaste is yeasty sour with some malts and a stingy malty sour tint. Medium carbo, watery but a bit harsher mouthfeel, medium bodie and a watery texture. A weak clone of Orval... Not that it is their mission... Anyways, strange pretty annoying unbalanced sour malty tint...

Pours a dark chestnut brown color with a one finger beige head that immediately settles into a thin ring. Minimal spots of lace left behind. Slightly earthy aroma with some earthy oak, vinous fruit, vinegar and acetone. Some dark malt, caramel and toffee along with hints of raisin, fig and solvent. On the lighter end of medium bodied with a harsh acetone character that dominates the flavor, overpowering almost everything else. Very harsh vinegar-y solvent character that’s tart and puckering but not pleasant or flavorful. Subtle oak and vinous fruit underneath but it’s hard to pick up anything because of the overwhelming acetic character.

Tallahassee, Fl - Fermentation Market - 11.2 oz bottle. Pours a dark ruby red with a tight reddish colored head. Aroma is sour and tangy with hints of vinegar and rhubarb. Flavor is wild and sour with some fresh raspberry notes, a hint of rhubarb, some sourheads candy and a hint of sour wine. Mouthfeel has a nice thickness to it.

Bottle. Dark brown and garnet in color with a tall, frothy brown head. Aroma surprisingly isn’t very sour but there is mild tartness, soft wood and and almost a grainy type note to it. Taste is big and bold sour fruit, balsamic vinegar, wet wood, light earthiness and soft grains. Body is light and somewhat acidic. Dry during the finish with soft carbonation. Ends with more sour fruit, wet wood, damp earthiness, funky yeast and soft grains.

33 cl bottle @ home, BBE 01/2017
The beer started to come out of the bottle right after opening the cap – how surprising from Alvinne. Aroma has sourish cherries, oaky notes, some vinegar and red wine notes. Flavour is acidic with oaky notes, sour cherries and vinegar. Finishes rather sour and tart. These oud bruins are not my thing.
