Draft at Mekong. Pours dark ruby with two fingers of white head that disappears quickly. Definite sour fruit notes on the nose. Big undifferentiated sour notes on the tongue. Finish lingers a bit. Solid but not spectacular for style.

Served on draft at Beer Run. Pours a clear and dark but vibrant ruby color. Nearly no head, but its still getting a high appearance score as I love that color. Tart aroma with notes of berries, cherries, grapes and caramel. The taste is very tart with notes of cherries, berries, pomegranate, grapes and earthy notes. Medium bodied, low carbonation.

On tap at Beachwood. Maple syrup, balsamic, oak, cherries, soy. Sweet and tart. Dark copper brown clear with no head. Medium body with medium-light carbonation. Starts and stays tart with sour cherry, soy, and oak. Tart finish with a bit of astringency. Mild bitter finish with tart after. Tasty.

Draft at WoB-UCF. Dark copper-brown, minimal to no head, essentially uncarbonated. A bit hazy. Fairly nice acetic nose, balsamic vinegar and dark wet wood. Flavor is mostly sour, very light bodied with almost no malt to back it up, giving it a lifeless watery feel that is magnified by the lack of carbonation. There’s a bitterness that classes (is this unhopped? it doesn’t seem like a hop related bitterness, maybe its more astringent woody than bitter). An apt, if extreme, comparison is the taste associated with drinking OJ after brushing your teeth.

Small yellow-beige head over cloudy, deep red-brown beer. Bit of chocolate, wild berries, lactic acid, sour milk and touch of wood. Lactic acid on the tongue, adequately dosed, with good touches of wood, (milk)chocolate, dark leaves, sourdough brea; final touch of lemon. Very spritzy and refreshing, light body but nowhere empty. Very nice & refreshing, ought to be promoted more. thanks to the brewers, and Honza for bringing along!

Here is a sour beer that I could drink all day (or at least until it was time for the Tums). The ideal balance of sour leaves this tasting like a blend of white wine and vinegar. I can see how some people may not like the way it strikes the palate but I found it nearly perfect. The $6.00 price point for a generous pour did not hurt either.

Aroma / Appearance - Lush red, the body glowed like a rose wine. Thin delicate crusts of head bobbed like pieces of ash while cleaning out a hearth. Licorice, vinegar, black cherries, and a general tartness eat at the air. It gives the impression of cooling embers over a dying firepit.

Flavor / Palate - White grape juice transitions slowly to a more intense sourness that permeates the palate. However it is a softness as compared to the full intensity of a lambic. Instead it chews slowly at the palate. Even after a full pint I was still picking up subtle nuances. If i could have I would have taken home a growler and continued to sip on it all evening.
