Commercial Description:
Bitterhed: 80+ IBU

English: With this our special brew, Batch One, we dared to experiment with our devotion to a solid malt profile combined with delicate American aroma hops. Batch One is an American Strong Ale characterized by its vast full body and generous amounts of hops. In the glass the beer has a reddish brown colour with a coppery glow, while the beige coloured head leaves a nice lacing in the glass. In this brew we have chosen to only use the noble Simcoe hop, both for boiling and the following dry hopping. The hops give the beer its fresh citrus like character and leaves a solid bitterness although it is balanced by sweet caramel malt. Amager Batch One is a potent beer which is not afraid to flex its muscles in both the alcohol and in its bitterness.
Bitterness: 80+ IBU

Bottle. Dark amber, thick ring of bubbles. Nose-very nice, light wet straw, light cherry liquor. Taste-very well done tobacco, very strong, tea, straw, very light very well done, dark fruit, great yeast, brown sugar, good seltzer, really comes together. Absolutely the whole package.

Courtesy SoLan. This one was over a year old at this point. Pours a cloud, dark, orange-amber color with a frothy, cream colored head. Jagged lines and spots of lacing mark the glass. The nose is very hoppy, even at this age, with bold notes of pine, spruce, orange and grapefruit showing over a toffee and caramel malt base. Flavors match the aroma, a nice balance being struck between the toffee and the aged, but strong, citrus and pine hops. Medium-full, lightly carbonated, and smooth, the body is quite satisfying. Good brew, ever after some aging.

My bottle definitely poured a very unclear murky orange tinted dull brown with a fantastic dense frothy off-white head and lots of fine sticky lacing 4.5 on appearance. Definitely smells Danish, plasticy malts, a bit spicy with a nice hop touch of papaya and juicy peach, a bit perfumy, also noticeable alcohol. Flavor is a bit odd, similar to some of Mikkeller’s stuff, but unique, tasty and quite drinkable. First taste is light caramel, a bit plasticy, followed by a nice juicy hop bite, a bit of sugary papaya and peaches then turning peppery and dry. Finishes very bitter and a tad burnt. Very easy drinking for 9%. This beer pulls of that trick of being dry with layered sweetness. Medium/light bodied, sugary and just a touch creamy with softer barely noticeable carbonation that stiff has a slight sizzle to it.

Thanks to SoLan for this. Aroma is a nice mix of piney hops and vanilla. Flavor is fairly light and bitter with lemon peel. A bit of juniper as well. Pretty good.

Bottle. Pours a mahogany body with 3 finger tan head. Dark fruity aromatic character, light sweet malt, and allspice. Very boozy almost reminiscent of gin. Light citrus hops to finish.
