COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bitterhed: 80+ IBU

English: With this special brew, Batch One, we dared to experiment with combining our usual devotion to a solid malt profile with the addition of American aroma hops. Batch One is an American-inspired Ale characterized by its vast, full body and generous use of hops. In the glass, it has a reddish-brown colour with a coppery glow, and a beige-coloured head leaves a nice lacing behind. For this brew we have chosen to only use the noble Simcoe hop, both for boiling and the following dry-hopping. The hops give the beer its fresh citrus-like character and impart a solid bitterness to balance the sweet caramel malt.
Bitterness: 80+ IBU

16.9oz bottle, aged the better part of a year in my closet. Unfiltered brown-red color, oily off-white head, some soapy edges. Assumably the hops have faded a little, which is unfortunate. There is some mild earthy bitterness, but way more rich caramel, bourbon candy like boozy sweetness. While it does have the rich resinous hoppy feel of a good US Barleywine, there are also mellow, malty fruity ale tones not unlike an Old Ale. Significantly thicker and deeper in color as i poured out the second half of the bottle, giving it a creamier, yeastier mouthfeel. Quite a nice Barleywine!

Rich amber color with a shallow froth. Good lacing. Faint aromas of sweet malt yet defined briskness. Full nectar with good carbonation. Silky texture, balanced flavor with a bit of heat, mildly sweet with a bitter hop finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from AJ’s Arcadia. I’d classify this more of a barleywine style. Good hoppy, caramely, sweet nose. Tastes similarly- sweet, syrupy malts balanced with a big, citrusy, hop kick. As good as any American strong or barleywine here in the states, but lacking in complexity. Good overall, though.

Nice amber red color, slight citrus armoas. Very sweet caramel taste, followed by bitter hops. Very nice balance, you don't really notice the 9.2 abv. Small pint on tap at Lord Nelson/Copenhagen. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Red color with a thick beige head. Aroma of citrus hops and fruit. Flavor of citrus hops, tangy fruits, and sweet malts, medium body, slick feel, average carbonation, finish is long and hoppy, but not strong. Ok.

A reddish pour (unfortunately I got a lot of head due to me doing a bad pour). There is a lot of fruit with the nose, and a little bit more bitter than i had thought it would be.

Countbeer (5337) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - JUL 22, 2012
Bottle: Thanks Papsø: Medium vast creamy head, disappears slow and leaves a half open thin and sticky lacing on top of an almost clear amber colored beer. Smell very nice hop tones, some honey, some creamy peach and apricot, barley malts, creamy malts, a hint of sweet fruit and barley malts, some light light pee tones. Taste is nice hoppy, fruit hops (apricot and peach), and many bitter hops, some sweets and bitter, a hint of roosvice, some floral notes and some creamy herbs. Aftertaste is growing and growing strong bitterness, some floral hop notes and some malty bitter tones. Low carbo, soft silky mouthfeel, fuller body and a creamy lightly thicker texture. Nice beer and the aftertaste is good bitter, but maybe too good/strong and long present...

The aroma is powerful with alcohol, licorice, dark fruit, caramel malt, and hops. The appearance is deep amber with a medium head. The taste is like the aroma with a chemical aftertaste. The palate is average. Overall I am not really a fan despite the interesting aroma, I think something might be wrong with it.
