COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

On tap at Henrik, Bergen. The colour is deep reddish brown to black with a light brown coffee-like medium head. Aroma of coffee, roast, dark chocolate, and nuts. Wonderful. Lots of roasted malt in the flavour as well along with coffee, hops and wet cardboard. More IPA-like in the aftertaste. Has a rich and slick mouth feel, and a heavy bitterness. The ale appears as a stout at first but more like an IPA in the end. Lots of bitterness and is pretty hefty.

On tap @ Henrik. This is a deep dark brown one with a medium sized ashy-brown top that’s leaving some lacing down the glass. The nose is quite hoppy, lots of pine, some caramel and dark chocolate malts. Nice non-extreme. Oh, the flavor is really infused with piney hops! It also has a dark roasted undertone, but the hops dominates highly. Quite mouthdrying in the finish. Some nutty snickers. Did not notice the nitroglycerin to much. A really nice BIA. 08.12.2012

Aroma is rather nice with exotic fruits, resiny notes, some roastiness and hints of coffee. Flavour has resin, exotic fruits, some vanilla and gooseberry bush. Finishes hoppy and somewhat dry with coffee notes. Very good BIPA!

On tap @ Henrik, Bergen. Pitch black body, small white head. Aroma is grassy hops, catty herbal tones, chocolate, licorice, hints of leather and floral hops. Taste is dark chocolate, grains, deep roasty malts, grass, floral hoppy tones, resin and spruce. Nice. Full body, medium carbonation. A very nice and "stouty" BIPA from Amager and Shaun E. Hill.

Aroma: The smell is dark roasted bread, dried fruits, raisins and dates.
Appearance: The beer is black, possibly with a hint of brown, the head rather light, tan. Receding slowly and leaving lots of lacing.
Taste: Not much sweetness in this, burnt caramel and bread crust, many bitter notes, roasted beans.
Palate: Rather high carbonation, a smooth body and a good dry finish.
Overall: A bit heavy on the bitter hops, could be balanced with some sweetness. Storing or an accompanying sweetness could and did improve this.
Note: bottle Reviewed 2010-09-08.

(Bottle). Very nice and fresh hop aroma with a solid foundation of roasted malt, slightly smoky with hints of licorice. Great taste of roasted malt and licorice with distinct flavors from the hops. In some respects reminiscent of a Porter. Absolutely superb beer!
