In short: A roasted, nourishing and uber-hoppy Black IPA. Good example of the style
How: Bottle 500ml. Exact age unknown, consumed a few weeks after receiving it from an online beer store
The look: Black body topped by a medium beige head
In long: Nose is massively hoppy for a beer ordered from an online store that probably wasn’t all that fresh. Aroma has floral, topical fruits and slightly piney hops nose-to-nose with the roastiness. Taste is very roasted, burnt caramel, black jelly beans, bitter black chocolate. Then comes the hops that are citrusy, floral and wooden with a strong resinous character. Bitterness is of medium intensity and sticks to the back of the mouth. Some tar in the after-taste. Body is very full and filling, the medium carbonation is well levelled. Nothing groundbreaking here, if you like Black IPAs, you’ll love that beer. On a side-note: Black Nitro is less dangerous than regular Nitro because most of the time it doesn’t work.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Vignale (907) - Malmö, SWEDEN - AUG 23, 2011
Svart IPor är fortfarande nytt för mig. Stort beiget skum. Mycket IPA-dofter av humlen men något mer som jag har svårt att sätta fingret på. Choklad kanske. Till smaken som en IPA med runda hörn, mindre friskhet och en liten chokladton från malten. Maffigt!
