3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Black bodied and surprisingly light coloured head. Small smoke, soy sauce, a bit of coffee. The smoke is Peat like and although small it defined the beer. I do like the hop backup to put things into place. Certainly not overdone. Drinks easier than the abv promises. Lovely mouth feel. This promised to be my kind of beer, and indeed it is. Smooth low carbonation, nice smoke, drinkable dark body, clean enough yeast. (50cl bottle from De Hopduvel)

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Backlog. I have a hard time with smoked beers, the smoke is usually way too overpowering, now i understand that it’s somewhat of the point, i wish it was more balanced though.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
It’s been a while since I had this one at a beerfestival, but I’m still talking about it. I can’t remember much about the taste itself, but it was SO smoky that even after 5-6 porters and stouts I could still taste it. Very intense and I’d like to try it again.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
30th October 2010
Clear and very dark brown beer. Decent off white head. Nose is of smoke and a little rubber (very apt label on this beer). Light softish palate, dry. Smoky rubbery malt with a little hop spice and bitterness to finish. Perhaps the sight of spinning car wheels on the label is too evocative but this tastes like fermented tyre shreddings!

50 cl. bottle @ home / split between me and Belgbeergeek – thx to him –batch 195 – most likely a vintage bottle / BB: 08/2012 – (A) very dark brown, whatever head there is here, it is very brief – (S) strongly peated with dominating burning plastic & peated earth smell in the mix, strongly roasted malts – (T) sweet boozy, smoked & burned malts, melting plastic, burned car tires, burned coffee, cold coffee black bread, peat, molases sweetness, scorched wood, dirt, bitter coffee, is there really no peat in this? – (B) slightly thinned, still very oily, slick, soft carb. – bit too much rubber/burned earth in this one, not bad but touch too much, still not that crazy about this kinds of beers despite a fondness for Islay whiskey, too much is too much and distilled that stuff is very different
