Clear medium to dark red brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, smoke. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20091105]

Bottled. A deep red beer with a huge light tan head. The aroma has notes of smoke, malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of smoke, slightly peated and slightly beech wood, combined with caramel and malt, leading to a dry smokey finish.

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden clear and golden deep redish with a hazzlenut brown glare and a small off-white head. Aroma is solid smoked and lingering malty. Sweet malty, distinct smoked and light leathery note slowly taking on in intensity. Dry and smoked flavoured finish. Lingering leathery to mild plastic flavoured finish.

Bottle 50 cl. Clear orangey brown with a beige head. Fat Bamberg smoke in the nose. Medium body, sweetish burned caramel. First on the scene is the fat and baconish Bamberg smoke, but then comes the tar and rope from the peaty British smoked malts leaving a tar like finish. Quite a complex smoked with many layers. 300809

Bottled@Mallaskukko, Turku. Black colour, small beige head. Aroma is liquorice, smoked wood and alcohol. Flavour is smoked wet wood, liquorice and mild herbal notes.

Draught at Copenhagen Beer Festival. Clear mahognay colour, miniscule head. Rubbery smoke aroma. Medium bodied with clean,hard mouthfeel. Tarry and smokey with some butter and a salty finish. The rock hard mouthfeel really works against it.

Hazy orange red coloured with a small off white head.
Smoked aroma dominated by peat with notes of whisky.
Smoked flavour of peat, whisky, hops and alcohol.
Hoppy, smoked and warming alcoholic finish.

Bottle. Pours a black color with a off-whie head. Has a smoky roasted maltý aroma with some hints of chocolate. Roasted malty smoky flavor with some hints of chocolate. Has a roasted malty smoky licorice finish.

UPDATED: NOV 24, 2009 50cl bottle @ VinensVerden, Odense. Pours dark brown with a small stable creamy head. Nose and taste is heavy peat, a bit of roast and lots of caramel. and bacon. Medium and smooth body. Dry, smokey and leathery finish. This takes me back to Bamberg indeed. Nice

Draught at KØ10. Smokey aroma, campfire, a little citric. Very dark brown colour. Nice stable creamy tan head. Good smoky flavour, like ham and charcoal. Roasted finish, some warming alcohol. Good malt base underneath. Too alcoholic, not necessary.
