English: Who Xiquic was, is a bit hard to explain - but we all know the hero twins: Wayne Wambles and Jacob Storm - headbrewers of Cigar City Brewing in Tampa, FL and Amager Bryghus, Denmark respectively. Since his first visit at Amager back in 2011 Wayne has been quite the idol for us. We don’t believe it’s possible to find anyone with a bigger heart in brewing - combined with the utmost passion and sense for detail. Therefore it was a great honor to us that Wayne accepted our invitation to come brew at Amager Bryghus - even on his birthday! A recipe was created from what seemed like an endless stream of emails. The Cigar City signature cedar wood was ordered and a birthday cake was baked. We had a fun day - we hope you’ll have fun enjoying this double mash cedar infused black pepper Imperial Stout, yeah, no kiddin’. It’s a bit of a beast - but a gentle one.

Draft at Taps Beer Bar in KL layover. Thick black pour with minimal tan head. 24-herbs smell with stoutiness. Taste is similar. Off-putting 廿四味 taste unfortunately - very medicinal/herbaceous - cedar and pepper maybe. Too bad.

Bottle at ølbutikken. Pour is Black with a fluffy, tan head. Aroma has lots of pepper, sweet licorice, dry Wood, hops, sweet hash, some vanilla and some chocolate. taste has more salmiakish licorice, a Tiny bit of dry smoke, dry Wood, pine, Fairly bitter, pepper. Really an experience, as it starts out really sweet, and ends off extremely bitter in a not-hoppy way. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle 50 cl. Pours pitch black in color with a thick and creamy tan head. Burnt wood, black pepper, grassy herbs and some roasted notes in aroma. Roasted malts, licorice, wooden notes in taste. Wooden, sweetish flowers and peppery notes in finish. Smooth on the whole.

Black body with a medium brown head. Strong and sweet aroma of dark caramel, dark chocolate, wood, whisky and hints of black pepper. Strong flavour with a floral woody feel, with lots of black pepper in the moderate bitter finish. The pepper also makes the finish unusually dry, and there isn’t that much sweetness in the initial taste either. Mid-bodied and softly carbonated. A nice one, but too thin, too dry, too peppery, too little bitterness and too little sweetness to be a favourite.

Pours pitch black with a nice big brown head that quickly dissipates. Incredible aromas of tobacco leaves, black pepper, leather and some chocolate. Taste is also incredibly unique, like a fine cuban cigar, with chocolate and vanilla notes. Very full-bodied and oily in the mouth. For me, this is absolutely incredible. Love this beer and will definitely revisit whenever I can get hold of it.

Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks ArizviSG. Black, opaque, with lacy tan. Cardamom, black pepper, a little wood and faint cherry aroma, spicy, faintly bitter, young wood taste. Full body, sleek, very woody finish.

0,5 l botle Appearance: dark with a 2 fingers almost creamy head with good retention. Aroma:Roasted malts, dark chocolate, cedar wood, black pepper, some herbal tones and some floral hops Taste: Huge complexity but easy drinkable. We’re to start Pepper notes upfront and in the finish,. chocolate and roasted malts are the main pattern as well as the cedar tones before the finish. However there is much more at the right temperature and the right air ratio the citra and floral hops actually show through for a split second. slightly above medium body, average carbonation. One of the better brews of this year for me. And something which you won’t unavel with a single bottle. Simpley said a must buy if you like Imperial Stouts. Easy accesible, but hard to fully understand.
