Danish.

English: Take a good thing and make it even better – that’s the philosophy behind Double Black Mash. This huge Imperial Stout was easily big and potent enough after the first mashing, but we thought what the heck let’s give it another spin. So we mashed it in a second time doubling everything that was already good while aiming for great. All grain, heavy duty, no nonsense. Did we hit what we aimed at? Well, that’s really up to you to decide. If you like it big and black this for is your kinda beer for sure.

Sampled at the RBSG 2014. It poured a black color with a brown head. The aroma was of roasted dark fruits. The taste was of velvety oily with sweet roasted nutty chocolate and coffee vanilla. Wow.

Bottle shared with me on the bus at RBSG. jcwattsrugger passed it to me, though I don’t know its origin. Anyway, it pours a near black color with a brown head. Notes of baker’s chocolate, roast, molasses, espresso, earth. Wow, this one is rich. Everything lingers. Full-bodied, with low carbonation and a robust, sweet mouthfeel. Leaves an impression.

Bottle… RBSG 2014This beer rocks!… Marshal Zhukov-black pour with a small, creamy, dark brown head. Good retention. The bouquet is a huge, hearty swirl of fudge, Cuban espresso, pouch tobacco and chocolate crème. Ultra full-bodied and downright chewy with tingly carbonation. The flavor is big, boozy and burnt; boasting fudge, dark chocolate, Cuban-roast, brownie brittle, espresso, blackstrap molasses and pouch tobacco. Finishes acrid, smoky and scorched. Leaves my tongue seared and dry with boozy warmth in my belly. Muchos kudos to Plovmand for providing this world class badass!

Very dark beer with a small but lasting brown foam for a head. Really thick, oily mouth feel. Big malty nose with molasses, burnt sugar and alcohol. This is a huge rich beer with lots of molasses, dark brown sugar, buttered toast, rich dark fruit and alcohol. Great sipping beer.
