Danish. Seks år skulle der gå, før Amager Bryghus bryggede en Brown Ale, men nu er den her. På typisk Amager maner, kunne vi ikke lade være med at give den lidt mere karakter og lidt mere humle end den typiske Brown Ale. Dragør Brown er en smuk nøddebrun øl med et tæt og cremet skum. Duften har diskrete chokoladetoner og et frisk pust fra den amerikanske Cascade-humle. Smagen starter med en let sødme fra münchener malten og glider så over i en let ristet karakter med et strejf af mørk chokolade uden nogensinde at blive sød. Humlen er til stede uden at øllen på nogen måde bliver specielt bitter.

Bottle. Pours dark amber with an off-white head. Aroma of nuts, malt, grains, some fruitiness and caramel. Flavor is sweet and malty with nuts, caramel,raisins and tosted mallt.Medium body, average carbonation.

Pours clear reddish brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, citrus and grass. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long caramel finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle. It pours a clear, dark reddish brown body under a big, dense, light beige head leaving lacings. Roasted, nutty aroma with some coffee hints. A light touch of prunes as well. It’s pleasantly carbonated, semi-dry and medium bodied. There’s roasted malts, coffee and nuts in the flavor, with a pleasant bitterness. Long finish. Overall, a fine beer, nothing extraordinary going on, but it’s easy drinkable and tastes fine. 131228

Bottle. Low fluffy and quickly disappearing white head. Dark ruby body. Hay bread aroma. Roasted malt caramel with a light bitterness and yet it feels quite smooth. Low carbonation. Long finsih. Better than expected.

Medium beige head. Dark red body with floaties. Earthy caramelly aroma with oat biscuit notes. Sweetish earthy caramelly taste with spicy toasted rice notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish fruity earthy perfumy aftertaste with spicy roasty notes. Nice, drinkable, fresh, fairly vivid. (0.5l bottle, from Kihoskh, Copenhagen.)

Draught @ Ørsted Ølbar. Very dark brown to black color with a deep dark red glare coming through, medium sized beige head. Not a lot of aroma. Taste malts, lightly toasty, lightly bitter. Medium body and carbonation.

Bottle: Thanks Papsø: Batch 620: Served in a Chouffe glass: Brown pour. Medium sized vast creame beige colored foamy head on top of a hazy dark brown colored beer. Aromas of caramel, barley malts, cardboard, manure, hops, hints of cacoa and liquorice (wood). Flavours are a mix of batley malts, herbs, hay, toast, caramel, some cacoa, bitters, chalk, light chocolate, some wood ish tones and some hop bitters. Nice beer. Aftertaste is bitter, malty, light chalk and light cacoa. Low carbo, creamy clpse to silky mouthfeel, medium bodied and a creamy texture.

500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Batch #620, ABV is 5.5%. Brown colour, large beige head. Strong aroma of moderately roasted malts, brown bread and chocolate, hints of fruity hops. The flavour is both smooth and full of character at the same time: brown malts, lightly roasted malts, caramel and chocolate without being very sweet, all balanced by just the right amount of hops. One of the best brown ales I’ve had.
