COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Danish.

11-MAY-2013, bottle @home, from Fish & Beer. Hazy amber with lasting tan head. Aroma is roast, coffee, and caramel. Taste the same with licorice as well. Sweet and creamy. Bitter from hops and roast. Bordering a Black IPA.

[5/2/13] Draught at Søernes Ølbar in Copenhagen. As Amager Brown. Aroma of malt, butter, caramel, nutty and toasty notes and yeast. Sweetish malty flavor, sweetish, a bit toasty, a bit vegetal, with a drier finish. Medium-bodied.

Light haze on this brown beer, small off white head. Light palate, airy and dry. Decent pale tan - cream coloured head. Light malts, little nuts. Mild malt dark character. Mild dried fruits hops, mellow bitterness. Finishes dry with a mild carbonated sting.

Draught at Ølbaren, Copenhagen
Dark brown color with creamy head. The aroma of darker malts is a bit dusty. Flavor of roasted malts and chocolate, quite dry, dusty again, with correct bitterness, but it has too much liquorice; some sweetness appears in the end, some chocolate too.
Nordic taste; not my favorite.

Draught at the Lord Nelson as Amager Newport XVII (5.5%).
I’m almost 99% sure this is the same beer. Dark reddish brown colour with small tan head. I thought I was drinking Black IPA rather than Brown Ale. Roasted malt, liquorice, grain and hops in aroma. Hoppy bitterness, roasted malt and moderate bitterness in flavour. Bitter aftertaste. Balanced. I liked this one.

Pours deep amber with a small, frothy, white head. Okay lacing. Aroma has chocolate, roasted caramel, piney, grass. Medium carbonation, fine dry and grainy mouthfeel. Flavour has dustiness, toasted caramel, light ashy with some slight cardboard. Fine bitter finish.
