COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: It is said that behind every great man is an equally great, and above all wise woman.
Now this can also be said of the beer world. Perhaps our most famous beer, Hr. (Mr.) Frederiksen is a powerful dude, who enjoys nothing more than to stand and admire his own muscles. Fru (Mrs.) Frederiksen however is a wise woman who knows perfectly well that it is possible to achieve almost as much without using anywhere near as much force.
This Lady is just as powerful but is somewhat toned down compared to the Lord. Slightly sweeter and less smokey although with plenty of black malt, chocolate malt and roasted barley she is no complete sissy - the US Centennial hops with its 60+ IBUs reminds you of this fact.
Bid the mistress welcome - she is here to stay.
Ingredients: Water, barley malt, wheat malt, oats, hops and yeast

50 cl bottle @ home. Batch #192: BBE 08/2012
Aroma is rather light with toffee, some roastiness and coffee. Also hints of peat and ash. Flavour is rather nice with licorice, roasted malt, coffee and hints of ash. Some sweetish toffee and caramel in the finish. Also some fruity hops start to occur at the middle of the pint. The aroma has suffered from aging by becoming light, but the flavour is still good. Really nice, rich and pleasant stuff. I prefer Fru over the Hr.

Bottle at home, shared with Erwin. Pours out very dark brown, looks like pitch black at the glass. Very little, to little, head, that won’t hold neither it seems. A bit sad. Very good aroma of coffe, lightly chococlate and red fruits inside. Like this one for sure allready. Roasted, very good nespresso- chocolate taste, pretty well balanced biterness and roastiness. Don’t ask me why, but I likt this one more then the HR. Frederiksen, wich is pretty good also. But I think this one, for me, seems more balanced at tastes, only a bit sad the head costs some points. Gonna buy more if I can.

Kalasgod.

Bottle at Øl og matfestivalen. Black with thick brown head. Aroma of coffee with chocolate, malt, vanilla. Roasty taste of coffee, oat, raisins, and a good amount of hops. Carbonation is a good fit, as is the thick body and robust bitter finish

UPDATED: AUG 20, 2011 A slightly watered down but amazing version Hr Frederiksen. I really like what the dutch do with their stouts, is it in the water, or the yeast strain, or malt treatment? Its a charming licorice type flavor, much more dominant in the Hr version. Great brew.

Begeisternd!
