English: As winter comes to an end Galanthus Nivalis is a messenger for warmer and better times, winter requires a robust beer so we created this Barley Wine in typical English style like a signal that spring is coming. Galanthus Nivalis also has enough substance for you to warm yourselves on even the cold spring nights - otherwise it would not have been a genuine Amager Brewery beer.
In the glass Galanthus Nivalis is a warm amber colour with a creamy off-white head the aroma is full of rich caramel whilst the taste is rich and malty with notes of caramelised apples. There is a clear imprint of the 13 months in port casks, giving a soft and slightly oxidized edge, the alcohol you can hardly feel the heat is just gentle and pleasant.
Ingredients: Water, barley malt, wheat malt, candy sugar, hops and yeast.

from Erzbierschof.ch - pours a cloudy brown beer with an immediate vanishing foam; very malty aroma with notes of plums, marzipan and cheese (?!), some hints of herbs and tea in the background; thick and full-bodied; very sweet, slightly dry and decently bitter; long malty aftertaste with fresh notes of grapefruit and pine needles - unusual and a bit confusing

375 ml bottle. BBE 01/2020. Batch #159.
Pours a deep amber colour with a small head on the edges. Aroma of strong wood, tannine and toffee. Flavour of strong caramel malts, candi sugar, strong wood, tannine, toffee, some hops and weak berries. Full bodied, thick mouthfeel and a long warming finish with alcohol and some sweet berries. Tannine is present in the finish as well. Too sweet but the barrel smoothens the flavour a bit.

Pours dark brown with a small foamy white head. Strong aroma of red wine notes, malts, spices, dark fruits and roasted malts. Taste is very sweet with floral notes, oak, wood, red wine and caramel. Finish is sweet and fruity with red wine notes. Alcohol burns through a bit too much. Quite sweet and malty barley wine.

Malziger, weinartiger und säuerlich anmutender Geruch. Antrunk sofort alkoholisch. Danach malzige Töne, holzig. Mittelteil whiskyartig, vanillig und scharf alkoholisch auftretend. Schließt süßlich, holzfaßartig und alkoholisch ab. Ziemlich gut.

Bouteille de 375, bouchon de liège. Batch 159. 5/10
