Editor’s Note: This version was brewed at Amager Bryghus and had its first appearance at Mikkeller’s Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2014.
NOT to be confused with the earlier version brewed at Hill Farmstead under the Grassroots label.

Da vi i juni 2013 besøgte New England var det derfor kun naturligt, at vi slog forbi Shauns gårdbryggeri Hill Farmstead – absolut in the middle of nowhere.

Bottle into tulip. Minneapolis. Pours golden orange and medium cloudy. Very little head. Aroma is a little musty, floral, and a little citrusy. Alcohol. A little more muted than expected. Taste is sweet with a subtle bitterness underneath. Not overwhelming. Body is medium-full. Longer pleasant finish.

From a 500ml bottle on 27/6/2015 (batch nr 881, BB 09/2016) Pours a light golden with a small head. The aroma is very floral and fruity - orange, lemon and lychee. It’s very fruit forward flavour wise as well, with lots of sweet citrus and peach. There’s a big dash of hops, featuring more lemon and grapefruit. Medium bodied with average carbonation. All up, this is a very quaffable, nicely balanced IPA. Wouldn’t necessarily pick it as a double, as it almost has a summery, quenching character to it.

On tap at Brewski, Paddington, 200615. Great beer this one big and boozy with a resinous mouthfeel that strips the lining off your mouth and tongue. Full hop aroma, very floral.

50 cl bottle from Bieropholie, served cool in a tulip glass. Clear deep golden with a tight white head. Pungent citrus, somewhat fruity, minimal malt presence. Medium+ body, reasonable carbonation. Pungent citrus, phenolic spiciness, tropical fruits, alcohol; off-dry with decent bitterness and a lemony, fairly pungent finish. A pretty good DIPA.

50 cl bottle. Batch #1040. BBE 05/2016.
Pours golden color with a large white head. Orange peel and mandarin on the nose, very fruity aroma, some piney notes, hops and faint resin. Flavor is also very fruity with mandarin and some sweet mango notes, resinous hops, subtle gooseberry tickle leading to a lingering bitter finish. Some mild alcohol warmth at the end too. Very nice fruity DIPA.

500 ml bottle from Birra+. Dark gold, perfectly clear, with a big, gluffy and persistent bright white head. Pleasent but not exactly fresh nose, dank and slightly chees hops upfront, moderate caramel and toasted malts presence, light citrusy edge and pine needles in the background. I don’t know if this bottle is very old, but the taste is even worse (at least for me). Huge herbal astringency, way too much alchool taste, sirupy mouthfeel which don’t make it very drinkable. As the nose, caramel and toffee dominates a bit too much. Soft to average carbonation, medium to full body, oily texture. I don’t like it, sorry.
