Editor’s Note: This version was brewed at Amager Bryghus and had its first appearance at Mikkeller’s Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2014.
NOT to be confused with the earlier version brewed at Hill Farmstead under the Grassroots label.

Da vi i juni 2013 besøgte New England var det derfor kun naturligt, at vi slog forbi Shauns gårdbryggeri Hill Farmstead – absolut in the middle of nowhere.

Opaque gold, strong white head. Some grain, sweet and spicy hop notes on the nose. Medium bitterness, quite dry, some sweet notes. Finishes bitter. Good, but perhaps not great.

My Bottom Line:
Citrus fruit rinds are met by alcohol warmth and rising resins in this soft-bodied, easygoing Double IPA.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam laces beautifully atop the misty blond shine.
-Alcohol is a bit too prominent for my tastes in the style.
-Drinkability is quite high due to the light body and moderate bitterness.
-The finish is a bit rough.
-This must obviously be superb when fresh, in Denmark.

Bottle @ Drie Dorstige Herten. Orange coloured with an off white head. Aroma is hoppy, grapefruits, dish cloth, onion. Flavour is grapefruits, light malty base, onion and some fruityness. A bit syrupy. Nice.

Small yellowish head over clear darker golden beer. Perfumey, fruity hops’ nose with passion fruit and rosewater; sweet-ish smelling. Bitter-hoppy, again fruity (exotic/grapefruit) and a bit floral. Long bitter aftertaste, resiny and quinine. Sharpish MF, well-carbonated and medium bodied, rather light for an IIPA. (Hop)oily slickness. Mot bad. Nothing new.

Botella 50 cl.

Subtle yet complex, quite mellow at first and almost sweet before a second tier of herbal bite reveals itself.
