COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s Note: This version was brewed at Amager Bryghus and had its first appearance at Mikkeller’s Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2014.
NOT to be confused with the earlier version brewed at Hill Farmstead under the Grassroots label.

Da vi i juni 2013 besøgte New England var det derfor kun naturligt, at vi slog forbi Shauns gårdbryggeri Hill Farmstead – absolut in the middle of nowhere.

Bottle. Hazy, pale golden pour, small white head. Hoppy nose, with a clear floral note. Taste is very smooth, almost a sweet finish to a nice hoppy body. Average carbonation. Medium body.

Aroma from the well chosen hops; floral, citrus, elderflower and fruity. Orange pale appearance, clear liquid. Very well tasting double IPA - begins with great sweetness followed by a medium bitterness from the e.g. amarillo and citra hops. Soft carbonation, creamy texture, long bitter finish, which leaves your mouth a bit dry. Thanks to Alaunus for sharing this great beer with me!

On tap Hair of the Dog Bangkok. Clear orangy yellow with a white head. Smells of ripe mango and passion fruit. Taste is semi sweet with a balanced bitterness. One of my favourites IIPAs and will drink it anytime of day.

8%ABV. Imperial IPA Tapped out a beautiful deep amber with a thin head of white pearly foam. The nose is full or lemon blossomy type citrus brightness. There is some lemon zest, but not like a weissbier and more along the lines of a citra hop. There is pretty active carbonation. Mouthfeel is heavy and almost syrupy. There is just enough carbonation to keep this drinkable and enjoyable, but not for long. You’re quickly reminded of all the good quality hops that they invested in bringing you this brew. There are nice toasty flavor notes and there is some residual brightness in the way of fresh fruit, especially plums, apples and pears. The finish is quite clean. No cloying flavors. You’re just kinda left in a cloud of beery cheer. Despite all this, I could not get past the syrupy cling and will have to leave this off my favorites list. This fact alone should not detract from the fact that this was a very admirable collaborative effort and I’m all for synergy!

Bottle into tulip. Minneapolis. Pours golden orange and medium cloudy. Very little head. Aroma is a little musty, floral, and a little citrusy. Alcohol. A little more muted than expected. Taste is sweet with a subtle bitterness underneath. Not overwhelming. Body is medium-full. Longer pleasant finish.
