3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 hellbilly (3053) - scottsdale über alles, USA - JUL 15, 2010
from dak’s bag of goodies on 5/31/10. batch 71b mindst 6-2010.
opaque pour is a nearly black shade of brown with a huge tannish off white head.
it smells of some sour raisins/vinous/plums, a little ashy roast, toasted nuts, caramel, cocoa and some tar.... it opens up a lot over ten minutes in the glass.
roasty flavor shows a touch of sour raisins, molasses, coffee-like nuttiness, roast, vanilla, cocoa and a lightly acidic finish. again, it gets much better and softer as it warms.
the over carbonated pour doesn’t make it into the texture. it is soft and lux. easy drinking richness. 7/4/7/4/16/3.8
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Koelschtrinker (7034) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 3, 2011
/11/11/11/Fl/11

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 tdtm82 (668) - Essex, ENGLAND - OCT 29, 2010
Bottle, home, many thanks to Papsoe.
Poured into goblet Westmalle glass, well gushed everywhere, lost quite a bit, the head is really nice white and creamy. Excellent. The colour is opaque and classic porter texture.
Aroma is of sweet malts, raisins, soy source, some descent brie, some codffee and spices.
Taste is coffee; raisins, sweet malts, some caramel, soy source, spices, a gorgeous and subtle peppery finish, very sweet and smooth on the palate and a bit dissapointing on that aspect as it’s actually a very well made and crafted beer. The complex flavour balances out .Somewhere between a porter and a Rochefort which is a massive win in my book. Respect should be given for this great feat.
Really like this brewery and hope to get some more bottles. F1OneFan I need your help! Edit. As I drink through the body the honey shines through which is lovely.
