COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Coffee in the aroma is heavy. Heavy coffee flavor that makes up most of the flavor. Maybe with small hints of licorice. Bitterness in the aftertaste infernal heavy and really knocks out all my taste buds in the mouth forever. Far too bitter for my taste and the heavy flavor. Do you have a lot of flavor and bitterness, this is the beer you drink. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Dark tar-like liquid. Brown head. Smoky smell. The flavor is full of dark bitter chocolate and black coffee. Hops are apparent but not overwhelming. Good! Not a refreshing beer for a hot summers day, but excellent when coming back inside after some hours outdoors a snowy winters day. Can I say it’s "foody"?

Murky deep brown body with a small brown head. This doesn’t look that good, but I guess it’s my own fault: the sample I’m rating is the leftovers from a lukewarm bottle with lots of yeasty sediments. The aroma is strong with roasted notes of coffee, hops and yeast. The taste is moderate sweet and heavy bitter. Strong flavour of coffee and citrus, a good malt/hop balance. Also too much dirty yeast, but again, that’s my fault. Oily texture, full body, very soft carbonation and a yeasty dry finish (the latter I assume is... wait for it... my fault). This is probably a very good beer, and I’m hereby ashamed of myself for rating this based on a small, warm, yeasty sample.

There’s something about the Danish water that makes me constantly have problems with their dark beers. Sour, stone heavy and slightly gooey mess that is only lifted by a slightly salty licorice flavor.

Pours a pitch black beer with a nice brown head. Smells and tastes coffee, chocolate and cookie dough with a good bitter finish. Average carbo, medium body and a sticky texture. I like!

Bottle at home. Pours pitch black with a medium sized light-brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, licorice and hops. Taste is of hard roasted malt, coffee, licorice, muscovado sugar, vanilla and hops. Full bodied and average carbonation. It’s bitter and dry, with wheat coming in in the aftertaste - quite atypical for an Imperial Stout imho, but even with the amount of hops in there I found it better than expected. Good.

Ruikt koffie, vanille, gebrand. Smaakt vanille, koffie, bitter. Goede bittere nasmaak.
