English: One day in May 2012, Amager Bryghus had a visit from one of America’s most charismatic brewers: Fred Karm from Hoppin’ Frog in Akron, Ohio. Fred was on tour in Europe and came by to guest brew with us. The result of this pleasant and rewarding day was Frog Hops to Amager. Frog Hops to Amager is a somewhat rare type, namely an Imperial Wheat Stout, brewed with eight different malts, two of which are wheat. And then it would not do for us if it was not hopped strongly so we gave the beer a solid game of Tomahawk and Chinook. You will find an intense and aromatic hopping beer, which is perhaps a little softer and not so heavy as other Imperial Stouts. Hope you can enjoy the results of this transatlantic cooperation!

My favorite beer of 2013. I had this a lot of times. An amazing beer of it’s kind, with a dry ashy finish that I love so much. I hope this beer will become really popular as it hits so many marks. The malt profile is amazing, alongside the copious amounts of hops and solid ABV. Love, love, love this beer!

Shared bottle @ Cardinal. There is really no question that Hoppin Frog had their fingers in this brew. They created another wonderful ale, full of dark chocolate, burnt wood and licorice. Great hop tones and bitterness. Pitch black and full body. I really enjoyed this ale!

Wine glass. Pours pure black in color headed by light brown - toffee like- foam. Crown is very close, thick, creamy, sticky & lasting. Rocky spots are left on sides. Amazing aroma profile displays caramel, toasted & roasted malt aromas, fudge chocolate, toffee & herbal hues, hints of smoke & burnt notes, as well as ripe banana on the back when warm. Chocolated sweet upfront but arising herbal bitterness moves it out. Full body. Soft carbonation. Superb mouthfeel is silky while viscous in texture. Creamy malt, slight citric & bitter cocoa flavors rounded by subtle woody touch resolves in a long bitter finish. Incredibly well integrated ABV is felt as a gentle heat through the throat. Dried aftertaste shows dried nut & sharp bitterness made of resinous & burnt notes. For a long & paused drink where every flavorful & complex sip is enjoyed. No doubt, this is one of the best I´ve ever had. I´m still shocked!!

from Erzbierschof - black beer with a persistent dark beige foam; strong aroma of mocha and walnuts; a fair hoppiness shows up with notes of red fruits; grainy notes; full-bodied, fairly bitter and very dry; some earthy tartness; very tasty and lively; very long nutty and coffeish finish with lingering hoppy and earthy notes - a great beer

50cl bottle, beers of Europe. Pours a thick oily jet black, with one of the darkest heads I’ve seen for a long time. Spicy pine hop aromas battle against a rich coffee and chocolate backbone, combining to produce a stunning imperial stout. The finish is long, lingering, full and very satisfying. A really big beer deserving of time being spent admiring and savouring it

Bottle. Black with a creamy light brown head. Dark chocolate, caramel, amber incense, leather and light hops aroma. Thick silky palate. Tastes of burnt coffee, grain, dark chocolate, light citrus, leather, and a hint of smoke with a robust earthy finish. Quite good.

500mL bottle, pours jet black with a medium creamy brown head - looks decadent. Nose brings out wonderful notes of roasted malt and dry cocoa powder - smells like my kind of impie. Flavour is quite divine, bringing out pretty much the same roasted malt and dry cocoa powder notes. No residual sugar, with just a touch of hoppy bitterness on the finish. A full-bodied, decadent imperial stout like many others, but this is exceedingly well-crafted. Sublime stuff.

Bottle at Erzbierschof Zurich. Probably the most chocolate-y impstout I ever had, from start to finish having this very dark bitter cocoa aroma. Some sweetness on the tongue, but not on the palate. Lingering lasting finish, but not a sweet one either. Wow.
