3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Medium, dense, foxy tan-to-brown head over black, viscous beer. Rich black chocolate & mocha nose. Cigarette smoke, smoked mackerel. Sweet, toffeeish main flavour going over in a more bitter-dry ashy finish. Chocolate very much in view again. Quite viscous and well-bodied, if not really chewy as some. Bit oily, but dry. All in all, not really that impressive. Bit... bland? For a Danish-USA collaboration, talk about surprising.

Poured into a Hoppin Frog snifter a black brew with a tan head that quickly dissipated into nice lacing.
Aroma is roasted coffee with smoke.
Taste is bitter coffee with a smokiness reminding me of Danish/Norwegian stouts I have tasted previously. Heavy dark chocolate is prominent.
This quite a dry almost absence of sweetness stout. Paired with some sweet potato chips for an afternoon snack which made this overall a pretty decent venture by Fred. LOVE HOPPIN FROG!!!

500 ml bottle shared by b3shine- thanks again, Beau! Pours an opaque brown with a finger of bubbly dark tan head. Notes of rich roasted malts, dark chocolate, burnt toast, rye, oats, and earth. Medium-bodied, with a super roasty, dry mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. An improvement on the one brewed at Hoppin’ Frog.

16.9oz bottle, shared by tmoney99. Dark brown, near-black color. Good brown head, bits of lace. Awesome wheaty roasty, coffee, dark chocolate malt character. Bigger body. Good chewy texture. Lighter, crisp carbonation. Moderate bigger bitter taste. Light sweet. Very nice imperial wheat stout. Very good, good creaminess. Good stuff.
