COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Amager is today perhaps not exactly known for its undulating cornfields, but there was a time when we almost took over Copenhagen - we were none other than the capital’s granary. As a tribute to those proud times, we have brewed Amager Harvest Brew, which is as golden as the grain and as fragrant as late summer flowers.
Harvest Brewing is inspired by summer’s clemency, but also points to the slightly darker times when you need a beer that is both nourishing and invigorating.
The alcohol is well hidden and seductive, and after three or four of our harvest brews you should end up with a ride in the hay.
Ingredients: Water, barley malt, wheat malt, candy sugar, hops, spices and yeast.

Bottle, batch 190, bbd 08 12., courtesy of Papsø. Cloudy grainy-golden with a short but creamy, white head. Sweet fruity and floral aroma with light malty accents and some candy-scented yeast-notes. Sweet, strong flavor, notes of ripe apples and fat grain. Some alcohol in the finish, but wellbalanced, with a soft, sicky texture, a light bitterness and quite some spice in the finish.

Bottle at De Molen 2nd Tuesday tasting. Poured a slightly cloudy medium amber with a bubbly frothy head. More like a barley wine than a barley wine! Very distinctive maltiness in the aroma. A very rich flavour. The malt and alcohol hit you right up front, but the alcohol is well controlled and doesn't burn. Lovely smooth palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle @ tasting. Aroma is sharp bready malt, a bit rye-ish. Flavour is bready malt, quite sweet with caramel, rye and deep earthy herbal notes. Nice.

Bottle @ 2nd tuesday tasting @ de Molen, hosted by dEnk. Hazy golden pour, thin white head. Aroma of brown bread, sugary and a bit fruity. Flavor is quite sweet, a bit grainy and some hay. Might have been nicer while still fresh, although still quite decent.

Cloudy amber beer, reasonable white head. Light palate, a little crisp and fairly dry. Creamy malt, sweet with a trace of toffee. Carbonated bite in the mid. Minerally rich malt. Tasty bee, hard to pigeonhole but enjoyable. Crisp finish.

50cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Hazy golden amber colour, white head. Aroma is very sweet, malty, fruitcake, light spicy, caramel, alcohol, it’s a bit like a mix between Paulaner Salvator and a cheap sweet Euro Strong Lager. Flavour is very sweet, malty, alcohol, spicy, overripe fruits, caramel, light bitter spicy finish with a lot of alcohol heat. Medium bodied. I think they were going after a Salvator-like fest-beer, but it’s way too hot and messy. Still tasty though.
