COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Amager is today perhaps not exactly known for its undulating cornfields, but there was a time when we almost took over Copenhagen - we were none other than the capital’s granary. As a tribute to those proud times, we have brewed Amager Harvest Brew, which is as golden as the grain and as fragrant as late summer flowers.
Harvest Brewing is inspired by summer’s clemency, but also points to the slightly darker times when you need a beer that is both nourishing and invigorating.
The alcohol is well hidden and seductive, and after three or four of our harvest brews you should end up with a ride in the hay.
Ingredients: Water, barley malt, wheat malt, candy sugar, hops, spices and yeast.

Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival. Deep golden, small airy head. Fruity nose with some ripe apples. Sweet with dense rounded mouthfeel, medium-full body. Aniseed and grain mingles with marzipan. Mildly warming finish with some salty licorice. Quite pleasant.

50cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Hazy golden amber colour, white head. Aroma is very sweet, malty, fruitcake, light spicy, caramel, alcohol, it’s a bit like a mix between Paulaner Salvator and a cheap sweet Euro Strong Lager. Flavour is very sweet, malty, alcohol, spicy, overripe fruits, caramel, light bitter spicy finish with a lot of alcohol heat. Medium bodied. I think they were going after a Salvator-like fest-beer, but it’s way too hot and messy. Still tasty though.

Bottle (Linköping Beer Expo 2012) - Amber/copper in colour. Malty aroma with notes of fruitcake and caramel. Malty, fruity and slightly tangy taste with raisins, caramel and fruitcake detected.

In short: An awful overly sweet and dirty/dusty blonde ale. Very bad
How: Bottle 500ml, consumed approximately one year before expiration date
The look: Cloudy dirty blond body, many small particles, quickly dissipating white head
In long: Nose of commercial sweet pastry, a bit of alcohol fume, minerals. Taste is annoyingly sweet, very crunchy sugary, honeyed cereals, dusty rug, more white sugar, candied apples, more white sugar, dirty yeast, more dusty rug. Holy crap, this was pretty damn awful. I drain poured most of my bottle. Apparently for Amager, failure IS an option.

Heavily sedimented (watch out not too pour too fast all at once) deep dirty water brownish golden pour topped by an elegant sticky ring. Kinda sugary nose immediately hits the nose with hot/alcoholic cereals complemented by spicy undertones. Frankly, kinda off-putting yeastiness with dirty banana puree and a musty, earthy unpasteurized apple juice uncleanliness not accompanied by the related acidity. Warming and sweet palate with an almost chewy, creamy texture despite the tingling small bubbles. Frankly, this felt pretty lackluster and without any hint at freshness, chaotic fruity yeast with abundant alcohol and unrefined malts throwing their sugars around liberally while the floral hops remain frail underneath it all.
