COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: People with great knowledge of the craft beer business told us that storytelling is half the pleasure of drinking expensive beer. So we asked a local historian to dig into the location of Amager Bryghus. And to say the least, we were thrilled to discover that our brewhouse is located next to an old water hole on the historic trash trail across Amager. Since ancient time our ancestors have quenched their thirst right here while transporting their rubbish to the famous trash pits of Amager. Likewise is the Buffalo Trace Destillery in Frankfort, Kentucky located on what was once an ancient buffalo crossing on the banks of the Kentucky River. Thus history blends together beautifully – from Amager to Kentucky. We hope you’ll enjoy how we in this special edition of Hr. Frederiksen blends strong black beer with some of the best quality Bourbon ever made.

(50 cl bottle from the brewery; Batch #355 BBD: January 2018) Pours black with tan, quickly receding head. Decent regeneration. Aroma is wet oak and bourbon with some booze upfront that fades leaving notes of fruits like prune and plum. Soft carbonation, full body, oily texture and a leathery finish. Taste follows the flavour with some added caramel. Girlfriend says: "it’s less tasty than the Pride."

Första doften som slår mig är äppelskal. Gröna äppelskal. Tar emot lite. Nån felsmak jag inte kan identifiera. Spritig.

Pours black with a fairly low dark tan head. Aroma of bourbon barrel, coffee, vanilla, brown sugar, figs. Taste is somewhat mellow initially before the boozy sweet kicks in, followed by a balanced bitterness. Boozy finish with distinct whisky / booze notes. Body is full and creamy with soft carbonation. It’s a nice RIS but a bit let down by the mouthfeel and the finish.

Bottle. Opaque black liquid with small tan head. Aroma of bourbon, booze, wood, chocolate, raw sugar, solvent and apple skin. Taste is dry and medium bitter with notes of booze, bourbon, wood, raw sugar and chocolate. Medium bodied with low to medium carbonation. Way worse than the original, too boozy.

All-out assault on the nose with whisky, vanilla, coffee and slight traces of smoked wood. Mouthfeel is creamy and very nicely textured. Taste is fantastic: coffee, whisky, some butterscotch and vanilla along with traces of caramel and honey. Best version of Hr Fredriksen I've had so far! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
