COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

(Bottle) Black colour with brief, foamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with strong black coffee, dark chocolate, cacao, tobacco, liquorice, dark cherries and a slight red wine fruitiness. Malty, roasted, fruity taste with notes of strong black coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice, tobacco, oak wood, red fruit, a slight tannin tartness and a vinous finish with a generous bitterness and a certain red wine flavour coming through. Full body, with a certain sweetness. Fairly soft and well balanced for it’s strength, with a touch of red wine shining through in this brilliant imperial stout. Lovely beer.

_angst_ (2622) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - FEB 10, 2014
UPDATED: FEB 11, 2014 Bottle bought @ Systembolaget. Pours tiny hazy black with an almost non-existent bubbly dark mocha head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace on the glass. Smell is tiny sweet, malty, tannic and slightly fruity with roasted malts, moist wood, good quality red wine, high quality dark chocolate, raisins, prunes, brown sugar sweetened dark roast coffee, toffee, vanilla fudge, burnt caramel, moist soil, hay and dried pine needles. Taste is sweet, bitter, tannic and fruity with roasted malts, bitter chocolate, raisins, dates, port wine, sweetened dark roast coffee, charred wood, vanilla fudge, toffee, moist soil, hay, burnt caramel and alcohol. Mouthfeel is round, slightly fruity tart, slightly roasted astringent, tiny velvety and near full bodied. Finish is bitter, tannic and fruity with roasted malts, bitter chocolate, raisins, port wine, moist wood, hay, caramel, toffee, dates and vanilla fudge. Th Swedish red wine I opened fresh and it was meh. This has aged since then and it’s exceptionally complex. I imagine it’s matured nicely and I’m happy I didn’t open this is a hurry.

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle. Back pour with a tan head. The aroma has some chocolate, alcohol and red wine notes. The flavor is very nice as well. I get some really strong red wine and tannic oak notes as well as some chocolate and roasted malt. Thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Delicious.
