COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Sample from 375 ml. bottle. Dark brown colour with a thin, lightly tanned head. Fruity aroma with red wine barrel, dark malts, roasted, vanilla, dark, dried fruits, caramel malts. Taste is sweet. Medium to full body with a creamy texture and a soft/flat carbonation. Finishes dry and vinous with roasted malts. Lovely barrel ageing. However, I prefer the original.

Flaske, 375 ml, tak Papsø. Let uklar mahogni-farvet, let lyst beige skum.

Pours opaque black with small tan non-persistent head that leaves no lacing. Aroma is strong chocolate, oak, port wine, some coffee, a little vanilla and booze. The taste is reasonably sweet with port wine, chocolate, coffee, toffee and oak. The red wine tannins come through in the finish with a little bit of pepper too. Medium bodied. Really quite good.

(Bottle) Black colour with brief, foamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with strong black coffee, dark chocolate, cacao, tobacco, liquorice, dark cherries and a slight red wine fruitiness. Malty, roasted, fruity taste with notes of strong black coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice, tobacco, oak wood, red fruit, a slight tannin tartness and a vinous finish with a generous bitterness and a certain red wine flavour coming through. Full body, with a certain sweetness. Fairly soft and well balanced for it’s strength, with a touch of red wine shining through in this brilliant imperial stout. Lovely beer.

Pours quite dark, not much of a head. Smells of sour red wine, dark malts, oak and hints of toast. Medium sweet, quite oaky, al lot of red wine, some wine acids, dark malts and hints of toast. Finished of with a moderate bitter tail. Very nice stuff
