COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nyd Hr. Frederiksen – Swedish style.

Smagenoter:
I denne udgave fremstår Hr. Frederiksen stadig i denne version.

Taste is slightly sour-ish dry, weeds, oak, minerals, bark, grass, redwine, sour coffee, hay, chocolate. Medium to longlasting bitterness, dry mineraly mouthfeel. Fair enough.

0.25l bottle from #300 shared with The Tasting Crew. This one pours a deeper dark brown looking one with a actually decent looking darker beigeish sidesticking and quite lacing head. It has a almost smoked nose. Totally different from the Danish version I just had. Quite smoky with lots of vegetal tones. Green pepper, a decent amount of dark roastiness. Chili fruity and it’s definitely woody. It tastes a little better than it smells, but it’s still kinda chalky in the taste. Of course, it’s a old bottle. It has a good oily texture in the mouth and it’s just below average and near creamy in the mouth. Roasted, dark woody. Tannins and a little tobacco. Grows on you. Long lasting roasted tail. 04.08.2016

Bottle. 2012 vintage. Opaque black liquid with minimal tan head. Aroma of chocolate, oak, red berries, red wine, red onion, coffee, licorice and cardboard. Taste is light sweet and light bitter with notes of red wine, chocolate, licorice and oak. Medium bodied to full bodied with medium carbonation. Nice, but a bit overly red wine aged.

Black Color with a nice big mocha head. Aroma of red wine is apparent from the moment you start to pour, plus some roast, coffee, sweet fruit (though that may be the red wine again) and chocolate. Taste roasty and burnt, fruit and sweetness noticeable but not overwhelming. Based on the aroma I was expecting something sweeter, and I’m glad to see that it still very much like an Imperial Stout. Very full and heavy, with a burnt finish.

Bottle generously shared during the post-grand tasting muff party at RBWG. Nice luscious red wine notes. Some wee heavy features: peaty with sweet melted butterscotch under the dark chocolate. Dry port and oak in the finish. Really cool.
