COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Even when just poured into the glass, you feel straight away that Mr. Frederiksen is a master of potency and great personality. Pitch-black as Mr. Frederiksen’s humor, this American style Imperial Stout has a dense and creamy, light brown head that leaves an abundance of lacing on the glass as it reluctantly settles.
We are happy to admit that we have gone slightly berserk with malt in this beer, eight different varieties were used including black and roasted malts that give this beer its color and almost extreme density - this is almost a meal in a bottle. The bitterness is also supplied by the roasted malts backed by the American Centennial hops.
Mr. Frederiksen is an experience to be savoured he should be enjoyed slowly throughout the course of an entire evening where you can warm yourselves by his alcohol and provocative charms.
We have named this beer after a good friend without whose wonderful support and assistance Amager Brewery would not be where it is today.
Ingredients: Water, barley malt, wheat malt, oats, hops and yeast

For a weekend that featured Scandinavian Imperial Stouts, Amager’s Hr. Frederiksen could fit right in here in the U.S. of A. Jet black pour with roasted/toasted barley aroma. Flavors like coffee and black chocolate. Lots of bitterness coming from the charred grain and American hop finish. The booze is hidden nicely. This is big and assertive like any Imperial Stout should be, but it’s still fairly mellow. It’s Scandinavian only by geographic association.

Bottle - 500ml. Pours an opaque, black body with low carbonation and a thin, lasting, beige foamy/creamy head. Rich, complex malty/hoppy aroma with roasted coffee, cocoa, grainy, and some subtle vanilla hints. Alcohol is almost unnoticeable. Its robust, complex malty/hoppy taste carries roasted coffee, cocoa, oaky, and plummy notes. Ends with a long, strong, warming bittersweet finish. One of my favorite Imperial Stouts ever!

Last beer of a tasting evening with Phil and Mark. Good one to finish! Black, with a small tan head. Body full and frothy. Roasted malt, nut, toffee, herbal oils, lingering bitter finish.

Pours a nice medium beige head. Aroma of coffee and leather. Taste is anise, licorice, cedar, lots of coffee, dark chocolate and hops. Light creaminess that ends in residual bitterness. Alcohol is not overwhelming. Solid imperial stout!

Low light tan head on a typical near black body. The nose is understated but intriguing with hints of coffee, cream and coconut. Balance is what this IS has going for it, but a bit of a letdown on impact. Am mice dry bitter coffee. Semi sweet choc with roasted malt are all there is small amounts. Ashiness emerges as the beer approaches room temperature. What this needs is a double shot of tequilla and a long weekend in Tenerife. Professionally done but still a bit disappointing.

Chocolatey aroma. Poured a black in color (from a bottle) with no head. Thick chocolatey and sweet, almost creamy. Quite good!

Huge stout. Dark chocolate, a bit of coffee, some earthy roastiness. So nothing out of the ordinary but hits on all fronts and crushes.
