Commercial Description:
Editor's note: second batch of this was released August 9th 2008.

Bitterhed: 81 IBU

English: When poured into the glass you will instantly sense that Hr. Frederiksen is a gentleman with both potency and a huge personality. Dark as Hr. Frederiksen's humour, this imperial stout is inspired by the American imperial stouts with its dense and creamy light brown head that leaves nice lacings in the glass while the head reluctantly dissipates. We are willing to admit that we went crazy with the malts in this beer. A massive 8 different types of malts were used, and it is the dark and heavily roasted ones that give the beer its colour and almost extreme full body - this is almost a meal in a bottle. The bitterness is also delivered by the heavily roasted malts backed up by the American Centennial hops. Oh yes, Hr. Frederiksen is an experience which should be enjoyed slowly, but in return he will last all night warming you with his alcohol and challenging charm.
We have named this beer after a good friend, without whom, Amager Bryghus would not be what it is today.
Bitterness: 81 IBU

Aroma: fresh, WONDERFUL hops. Very potent hop aroma. Lovely malts, oats, wheat, vanilla. Sweetish, caramel.Coconut, cherry. Dark chocolate and nougat. Dark roasted. Coffeelike.
Flavour: Mm. delicious. Very well balanced. It hits you immediately. For it is very bitter, both of hops and dark roasted malts. Very full-bodied. Oats. Slightly sourish. Some sweetness from the malt, but it is practically slaughtered by the massive dry, malt- and hopbitterness. Wonderful.
Appearance: Black with a brown rind. Very thick, beige-brown, frothy, lathery, sticky foam.
Palate: Creamy, oily. Milky. Very nice, but a little fluffier than I’d prefer.

Bottle. Pours black with a small, rocky light brown head, somewhat lasting with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (molasses, toasted grain, chocolate, coffee, average hop (grass), heavy yeast (leather, leaves) with notes of light alcohol, raisin, prune, date, wood, and smoke. Full bodied, oily texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity, and heavy bitterness.

Very dark black colored brew with a nice coffeebrown head. This flavor is intense. Very roasted and charcoiled flavor. Strong espresso and dark bitter chocolate. When warmed, flavor gets smooth and even a bit silky. Aftertaste is longlasting and rough. Not for the weak.

Bottle at the release of Flaming Fury. Pours a dark black with a thin chocolate colored head. Plum, caramel, and roast. Roast and char flavors, finishing up with a smooth roast bitterness.

Bottle from Crown#6, shared at Jordan’s Weinerfest, crowd favorite. Pours pitch black with creamy tan head. Nose has some coffee tones with faint roasted malt and brown sugar notes. Flavor is smooth and creamy with dark chocolate, roasted malt, smoke, leather, very complex and full. I really like this one.

Pours a pitch black colour and a brown dense head with lots of lacing. Aroma and flavour is heavily roasted, warming and with distinct notes of coffee that rests on a sweet background and with a bitter finish. Mouthfeel is very smooth and oily. My first beer from Amager and it’s impressing!

Bottle. Black pour with brown head. Aroma is lots of chocolate and burnt malt, but also a considerable amount of bitter and earthy european hops. The hops and the chocolate don’t really mix that well, in my opinion. Flavor is the same, like a black IPA, mixed with an imperial stout. The flavors fight each other in my mouth, but good chocolate.
