COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Even when just poured into the glass, you feel straight away that Mr. Frederiksen is a master of potency and great personality. Pitch-black as Mr. Frederiksen’s humor, this American style Imperial Stout has a dense and creamy, light brown head that leaves an abundance of lacing on the glass as it reluctantly settles.
We are happy to admit that we have gone slightly berserk with malt in this beer, eight different varieties were used including black and roasted malts that give this beer its color and almost extreme density - this is almost a meal in a bottle. The bitterness is also supplied by the roasted malts backed by the American Centennial hops.
Mr. Frederiksen is an experience to be savoured he should be enjoyed slowly throughout the course of an entire evening where you can warm yourselves by his alcohol and provocative charms.
We have named this beer after a good friend without whose wonderful support and assistance Amager Brewery would not be where it is today.
Ingredients: Water, barley malt, wheat malt, oats, hops and yeast

Kauge (188) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - OCT 22, 2014
50 cl bottle from Stockmann in Tallinn (€ 7,90). Batch 731; BB 12/2018. Pours a very dark brown - pitch black in the glass. Light beige head retains and laces superbly. Loads and loads of sediment... did not pour carefully. Nose is... wooooaah... beautiful creamy sweet roasty coffee and chocolate with a hint of vanilla and loads of resinous citrusy hop bitterness. Taste begins with quite tamed chocolaty sweetness that gradually but surely turns into a mix of roasty malts and bitter hops while retaining the sweetness. Body plus medium, carbonation thin but somewhat prickly. This is my kind of stuff. Perfect to sip while listening to Nirvana’s less dramatic / more ironic stuff like "In Utero" after a veeery long time.

Pour is shockingly jet black with a finger of khaki cap with decent retention and great lacing. Nose is chocolate, molasses, burnt sugar, coffee and alcohol - everything you would expect from an IS. The nose is decent but the taste is....wowsers. Very sweet syrupy malt up front and then suddenly it explodes like a firework as the lingering alcohol and bitter chocolate permeate and take over everything, like Nazis only awesome, and in beer form. Remarkably drinkable for 10.5%, and smoother than Ella Fitzgerald doing a Cole Porter tune. Great stuff.

Freaky_tiki (582) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 16, 2014
Pours heart of darkness black into the glass with a thin cap the colour of burnt golden sugar. This is a fantastic brew: velvet in the mouth, with coffee & dark chocolate, & a moderate bitter finish. The alcohol creeps into the brew like a thief in the night. If I were a brewer I’d buy a fistful of these & make into a serious case study of what one could do with the style. Highly recommended.

500 mL bottle. Black with a khaki head. Espresso, dark chocolate, amber caramel and a touch of citrusy/floral hops. Sweet at first, taking a sharp turn to heavy hop bitterness and roast. Finishes nicely bitter. Big, dense, thick and creamy. Heavy on the palate with a full body and modest carbonation. Simply massive, a cellar candidate.

neuromatt (1169) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 9, 2014
500 mL bottle from the LCBO, served in a stem glass. Pours deep chestnut-black with a moderate tan head that fades to a thin cover and leaves a small amount of fine lace. The nose has big notes of roasted malts, along with cocoa, vanilla, some espresso and a touch of smoke. The flavour is moderately sweet throughout, with vanilla, cocoa, molasses and roasted malts. Piney, resinous hops provide a nice hoppy balance. The finish is long with loads of roasted malts, espresso, a touch of smoke and a moderate hoppy bitterness that lingers. On the palate it is medium-full in body with a smooth, milky texture and average carbonation. Overall, a very nice imperial stout with complex roasted malts and a very nice hoppy complement. 2014-10-09

hangunder (243) - Ontario, CANADA - OCT 8, 2014
Very nice milky chocolate, cocoa and lightly roasted aroma. Looks beautiful, thick brownish head, completely translucent and streaming effervescence. Tastes quite nice, very well balanced but with quite strong flavors. Upfront some sweet malt/molasses character, finishes with a strong leafy bitterness throughout the mouth and a hint of sweetness. Quite bitter for an imperial stout. Interesting and unique. Medium bodied and average carbonation. Pretty good.

Batch #834. Pours opaque jet black with loads of lacing. Huge espresso and chocolate aroma with some roast and a certain boozy/whisky note. Shows a bit of bread as well as some brine. Big rich and creamy palate lead to a boozy and burnt toast bitter finish. Long, some complexity. Very nice!
