radiomgb (1711), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Jan 30, 2008 Deep black in colour, average sized tan coloured head, great lacing. The aroma was of dark chocolate, roasted malts, light alcohol, chalky, light smoke, lightly sweet. The flavour is of chocolate, some coffee, quite roasty but at the same time quite smooth, creamy turning bitter. Highly bitter malty mouthfeel, medium/large body, medium carbonation. Finishes long, lots of chocolate, chalky, very bitter. Very big, intense, roasty. Definitely packs a punch.

Pitch black color, good tan head. Coffeish, roasted aroma. Foamy carbonation. Licorice and coffee flavors. Very roasted and alcoholic - all in balance. Long toasted aftertaste. pivnizub (3638), Porúří, Germany Jul 12, 2008 Bottle (RBESG 2008): Literally black with a bigger, fluffy stable head; impressive nose: dark dried fruits, dark malt, roasted malt, black coffee and leather; full bodied, creamy MF, full bitter-sweet flavour; bitter, dry, chocolatey finish. Extremely good, very moreish....... cgarvieuk (2160), Edinburgh, Scotland Jul 11, 2008 Bottle at RBESG08 ... Deep black ... deep roast malts ... rich juicy toasted malts .. very tasty Miver (299), WillowStreet, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 8, 2008 Thanks to Dickonsonbeer for sharing this. I’ve been after this one for quite some time. Bottle # 294/400, batch 5 and BB 05 2010. Poured pitch black with a medium sized tan head that left a nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is strong roasted coffee and chocolate. Taste is of roasted coffee, vanilla, chocolate, with a nice creamy smooth finish. Hops are present, but balanced very well with the rest of this incredible Imperial stout. Thanks Paul!!!
