COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Even when just poured into the glass, you feel straight away that Mr. Frederiksen is a master of potency and great personality. Pitch-black as Mr. Frederiksen’s humor, this American style Imperial Stout has a dense and creamy, light brown head that leaves an abundance of lacing on the glass as it reluctantly settles.
We are happy to admit that we have gone slightly berserk with malt in this beer, eight different varieties were used including black and roasted malts that give this beer its color and almost extreme density - this is almost a meal in a bottle. The bitterness is also supplied by the roasted malts backed by the American Centennial hops.
Mr. Frederiksen is an experience to be savoured he should be enjoyed slowly throughout the course of an entire evening where you can warm yourselves by his alcohol and provocative charms.
We have named this beer after a good friend without whose wonderful support and assistance Amager Brewery would not be where it is today.
Ingredients: Water, barley malt, wheat malt, oats, hops and yeast

500ml bottle. Black with a frothy tan head. Flavors are caramel, chocolate, roasted malts, berries, molasses, licorice and alcohol with woodsy and spicy notes. Generous bitterness. Medium to full body, moderate carbonation, smooth texture.

A darkest night pour. No highlights beyond the black, even extremely backlit. Mocha coloured head, albeit a thin one. Aromas of dark chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, The Taste’s are very similar, with a sneaky bitterness, entering the mix. Not a sweet chocolate stout at all. Overall, while I’ve had more obvious stouts, that get right in your face, this is one of the more subtle, extremely high quality, world class stouts I have ever had the pleasure to drink.

Bottle (500 ml). Split 2-ways with the lady.

Appearance: Black with reddish reflects, a medium beige head and litlle lacing.

Aroma: Cocoa powder comes first followed by a mix of caramel, roasted malt and red fruits/berries as well as hints of alcohol.

Taste: A good mix of cocoa, caramel, dark fruits, roasted malt, alcohol, wood, pine, light spicy/peppery notes and moderate bitterness.

Palate: Medium to full body. Medium carbonation. A tad oily mouthfeel. Moderate bitter and warming finish.

Overall: This Imperial Stout is all about balance. Nothing is overpowering and it’s quite easy to drink the whole bottle (I’m not saying it’s drinkable, but it’s not cloying). Very tasty. I really liked this one.

Bottle. Black oily pour, small brownish head. Aroma is mostly roasted malt, but also unusually hoppy and fruity. Taste is roasted malt, cacao and coffee at first, then some red fruit, citrus, vanilla and oak. Quite bitter and dry aftertaste. Abv well hidden. At first I didn’t like the bitter finish, but as it warmer up it got better, more smooth.

roasted malts, coffee, liquorice, and loads of hops...especially at the end just too much for me...paracetamol bitterness...nice beginning but disturbing ending.
