COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Even when just poured into the glass, you feel straight away that Mr. Frederiksen is a master of potency and great personality. Pitch-black as Mr. Frederiksen’s humor, this American style Imperial Stout has a dense and creamy, light brown head that leaves an abundance of lacing on the glass as it reluctantly settles.
We are happy to admit that we have gone slightly berserk with malt in this beer, eight different varieties were used including black and roasted malts that give this beer its color and almost extreme density - this is almost a meal in a bottle. The bitterness is also supplied by the roasted malts backed by the American Centennial hops.
Mr. Frederiksen is an experience to be savoured he should be enjoyed slowly throughout the course of an entire evening where you can warm yourselves by his alcohol and provocative charms.
We have named this beer after a good friend without whose wonderful support and assistance Amager Brewery would not be where it is today.
Ingredients: Water, barley malt, wheat malt, oats, hops and yeast

Bottle shared by ygtbsm94. Thanks Brad! Batch 5 Bottle 396 / 400 Best before 05 / 2010 The beer appears near black, with a quarter inch of beige head that leaves a fair bit of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of smoke, roast, and chocolate. The flavor is a little sweet, with notes of chocolates and roast. Alcohol presence is discernible, especially in the finish. Overall, a pretty decent beer and representation of the style. A small serving was just right. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 03-30-2011

I think I samlped earlier version. Pours balsam black, on nose- sweet dark malts, dark caramel, maybe a bit alcohol. Taste- medium sweet and light to moderate bitter. Pleasant, silky texture, thick body. Nothing extra imp stout, but very pleasant sipping, well balanced beer with dominant malt, caramel emphasis.

50cl bottle served in a snifter. Dark brown with an off white head which disappears quickly. Aroma is subdued for the style with just the bare ingredients shining through rather than any additional flavours which would have been most welcome. Mouthfeel was disappointingly thin for the style, strength and reputation. In fact the Nogne Imperial Stout being sampled at the same time had this beat on all areas and most importantly price. Quite a weak effort. I have yet to try a good Amager Imperial Stout and only have Danish Metal left to try.

Bottle. A truly great beer! Appearance: black colour with thick beige foam. Aroma: not very strong, roasted malts, coffee but also hops and floral notes. Taste: heavy and rich, lots of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, dark fruity notes, great balance between malty sweetness and hoppy bitterness. Full body. Complex and delicious!

Standard IMP stout for me, superbly balanced and high quality. Quite heavy roasted malt background, lovely coffeeish kick, dark choco, licorice, decent floral hop kick. Moderate to light sweetness with moderate bitterness. Really enjoyable brew

On tap. Hug beer. Nose was a bit weak, some alcohol and coffee. Taste was more like a smooth barely wine than a stout to me. Complex, full. Long lushish finish.

April 11, 2015. Bottle at home, best before december 2018.
Black with a small dense brown head. Aroma is roasted, licorice, molasses, herbal, coffee and ash. Taste is sweet toffee and licorice with bitter roast and ash. Medium bitter finish with ash notes and some sweet licorice and dark berries. Medium to full bodied, soft to average carbonation.

50cl bottle. Pours absolutely black with a thick bubbly beige head. Aroma is light with some roastiness, red fruits, some sourness, burnt sugar, some alcohol. Taste is wonderful: strong roastiness, bitter chocolate, coffee. Excellent very long bitter finish with lots of roasted notes. Thick oily mouthfeel, full body, light carbonation, some alcoholic warming. Meravigliosa.

Opaque brown-black. Tan thin head with big bubbles, watery fizzy legs. Smells sweetly floral, grassy herb (a bit like Chinese medicine), light roasty bitterness in background. Tastes quite sweet, vanilla and floral, hint of burnt coffee and spice, acidic finish. Body is sharp and heavy and a bit cloying. Not at all what I expected for an American style Imperial stout. Heavy herbal bitterness and sweet. Interesting beer even if it isn't something I'd buy again.
