COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Even when just poured into the glass, you feel straight away that Mr. Frederiksen is a master of potency and great personality. Pitch-black as Mr. Frederiksen’s humor, this American style Imperial Stout has a dense and creamy, light brown head that leaves an abundance of lacing on the glass as it reluctantly settles.
We are happy to admit that we have gone slightly berserk with malt in this beer, eight different varieties were used including black and roasted malts that give this beer its color and almost extreme density - this is almost a meal in a bottle. The bitterness is also supplied by the roasted malts backed by the American Centennial hops.
Mr. Frederiksen is an experience to be savoured he should be enjoyed slowly throughout the course of an entire evening where you can warm yourselves by his alcohol and provocative charms.
We have named this beer after a good friend without whose wonderful support and assistance Amager Brewery would not be where it is today.
Ingredients: Water, barley malt, wheat malt, oats, hops and yeast

Bottle shared by ygtbsm94. Thanks Brad! Batch 5 Bottle 396 / 400 Best before 05 / 2010 The beer appears near black, with a quarter inch of beige head that leaves a fair bit of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of smoke, roast, and chocolate. The flavor is a little sweet, with notes of chocolates and roast. Alcohol presence is discernible, especially in the finish. Overall, a pretty decent beer and representation of the style. A small serving was just right. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 03-30-2011

Black color, but no deep black. Low tan head. Roastness really light in aroma, caramel and toffe more intense than chocolate and coffee. Medium body.

Black like an abyss, with a small tan head. Reasonably subdued nose, but has notes of cocoa, grains, molasses and booze. The taste is very malt focused - dark chocolate, treacle, licorice, soy. Quite smooth and lighter bodied than expected, but would probably become cloying if it were more viscous. An elegant and restrained imperial stout.

(Amager Hr. Frederiksen) Bottle 500 ml at home, served into a snifter, ABV 10.5% Black coloured beer with almost two full fingers of thick, dark beige head sitting on top, with very good retention. Medium lacing left around the glass. Aroma seems weird at first but after some breathing in the glass and some swirling, nice notes emerging of light chocolate, roasted malts, some herbs, liquorice, vanilla, alcohol. Rich taste, sweet at first with alcohol, vanilla, liquorice, chocolate, moccha, fruity touches follow, roasted malts, cookies, herbs. Medium to full body, good soft carbonation, smooth and creamy texture. Very good.

I think I samlped earlier version. Pours balsam black, on nose- sweet dark malts, dark caramel, maybe a bit alcohol. Taste- medium sweet and light to moderate bitter. Pleasant, silky texture, thick body. Nothing extra imp stout, but very pleasant sipping, well balanced beer with dominant malt, caramel emphasis.

50cl bottle served in a snifter. Dark brown with an off white head which disappears quickly. Aroma is subdued for the style with just the bare ingredients shining through rather than any additional flavours which would have been most welcome. Mouthfeel was disappointingly thin for the style, strength and reputation. In fact the Nogne Imperial Stout being sampled at the same time had this beat on all areas and most importantly price. Quite a weak effort. I have yet to try a good Amager Imperial Stout and only have Danish Metal left to try.

Bottle. A truly great beer! Appearance: black colour with thick beige foam. Aroma: not very strong, roasted malts, coffee but also hops and floral notes. Taste: heavy and rich, lots of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, dark fruity notes, great balance between malty sweetness and hoppy bitterness. Full body. Complex and delicious!
