COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Even when just poured into the glass, you feel straight away that Mr. Frederiksen is a master of potency and great personality. Pitch-black as Mr. Frederiksen’s humor, this American style Imperial Stout has a dense and creamy, light brown head that leaves an abundance of lacing on the glass as it reluctantly settles.
We are happy to admit that we have gone slightly berserk with malt in this beer, eight different varieties were used including black and roasted malts that give this beer its color and almost extreme density - this is almost a meal in a bottle. The bitterness is also supplied by the roasted malts backed by the American Centennial hops.
Mr. Frederiksen is an experience to be savoured he should be enjoyed slowly throughout the course of an entire evening where you can warm yourselves by his alcohol and provocative charms.
We have named this beer after a good friend without whose wonderful support and assistance Amager Brewery would not be where it is today.
Ingredients: Water, barley malt, wheat malt, oats, hops and yeast

Bottle shared by ygtbsm94. Thanks Brad! Batch 5 Bottle 396 / 400 Best before 05 / 2010 The beer appears near black, with a quarter inch of beige head that leaves a fair bit of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of smoke, roast, and chocolate. The flavor is a little sweet, with notes of chocolates and roast. Alcohol presence is discernible, especially in the finish. Overall, a pretty decent beer and representation of the style. A small serving was just right. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 03-30-2011

Pours an inky black with cola highlights and a tiny ring of off-white bubbles. Aroma of baker’s chocolate, black coffee, dark malts with a moderately strong roast, sweet cream and vanilla undertone, and a bit of pine hop on the finish. Palate sweeter at first than the nose would suggest, with both sweetened coffee and dark chocolate, vanilla, a bit of molasses, a light berry character in the middle maybe? As the sip goes on it dries out rapidly, hints of wood joining a burnt malt, roast coffee bean, and hop bitterness that leads to a totally dry finish. Aftertaste is not ashy per se, but definitely quite roasted/burnt, moderate hop bitterness that persists is fairly strong given the style. Medium full, oily body, very soft carb. No alcohol heat. Great imperial stout, with two disparate halves nicely linked as the transition plays out on the tongue. Sweet start is very flavourful, dry finish prevents it from being cloying. The resulting beer is surprisingly elegant given its rather robust flavours.

500ml bottle. Dark, almost black body, medium mocha head with good retention, lots of lacing. Aroma of licorice, blackberry jam, herbs, cocoa, a tad metallic. Taste of burned caramel, blackberry jam, herbal bitter, dark chocolate, a touch of coffee. Nice and warming.

Pours a real dark brown colour with hardly any highlights. Beautiful creamy-bubbly beige head that stays long and creates thick creamy lacing. Roasted malt aromas with some darker fruits. The fruits take over in the taste and the alcohol is very well-hidden. The roasted malts are blended quite mildly in there. Nothing too crazy here, but goes down smoothly overall.

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with slight tan head. Aromas of dark berries, sweet dark chocolate, and dry roasted malts. Flavors of bitter dark chocolate, ash, and dry roasted malts. Not getting the smoothness from the oats but still very nice.

Bottle from the LCBO. Opaque dark brown with a tiny beige head that doesn’t linger. Nose has lots of chocolate and coffee with a dose of vanilla, roasted nuts, toffee, dark fruit and underneath it all some pine and grass. First impression is of a medium sweet toffee start, but this is only momentary before a big coffee and dark chocolate bitterness takes over and continues through to a dry chewy finish. This is a big beer with a lot of flavour but still not enough to cover the 10.5% alcohol. Mouth is medium full with very soft carbonation. Needs to be savoured slowly.
