COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: ”I rate – therefore I am”. These very few words were for many years the simple governing rule for Hr. Papsø to live by. For years he would seek out exotic and faraway places like Onetaka, Windischeschenbach, San Diego – yes even Køge – in his constant quest for the holy grail: that perfect beer. What started as a way of spending time while being romatically involved with a certain girl at a youth hostel in Newcastle, NSW turned into a 25 year long passion of rating every beer he encountered. With his faithful companinon – Mr. Pink – and his set of gold coated tasting thimbles always ready for action Hr. Papsø has now reached 25.000 ratings on the world’s most renowned beer rating portal www.ratebeer.com. And that for sure calls for a beer to celebrate. “Hr. Papsø In Black” is such a beer combining three of the things Hr. Papsø really loves in a beer: that cool darkness, a fresh and crisp dryhopping and high drinkability. Be calm – be cool. Enjoy.

Ingredienser: Vand, Malte: Pale, Pilsner, Dehusked Chocolate, Cara-Hell og Cara- Aroma. Humle: Simcoe og Sorachi Ace. Gær: US Ale.

Bottle. Huge thick creamy light brownish head that really lasted. Dark mahogany color. Excellent lacework left in the glass. Light chocolate, hint of roasted malt, citrus, grass, floral and light fruity notes. Over the palate came smoke, light dark chocolate, roasted malt, citrus, grass and floral hoppy notes. Medium bodied with an average carbonation and light dry texture. Light bitter and sweet flavor in harmony. Lingering light roasted and bitter hoppy finish. Excellent beer.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Max’ place. Thanks Mr. Papsø for the bottle! Expired. Black-brown with a frothy white head. A little waxy, vanilla aroma, vanilla and bitterness in the mouth. Full body, still well-carbonated, mildly bitter, a little caramel finish.

At a tasting, thanks, big gushing bubbly fluffy head, deep brown color, not completely opaque, aroma of candle wax, vanila and something old, some chocolate behind all of this, flavor of soap and choclate with stale nuts amd grains, medium not too pleasant bitterness. Much to old.

(Bottle) Almost black colour, hints of ruby when seen through light. Huge rocky beige head. Malty, roasted, hoppy nose with notes of black-currant, coffee, pine needles and possibly a touch of mint. Malty, roasted taste with black coffee, cacao, roasted malt (almost burnt), black-currant, pine needles and a generous piney bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. The comparatively moderate alcohol level makes it quite drinkable, despite the impressive bitterness. Very nice.

Batch 606.
