4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from my friend WeeHeavySD tried at alohaCs 2008 end of the year tasting. Huge thanks Jon! What an excellent quad. Can’t wait to see more BA quads being brewed. BA Westy anyone? Dark cloudy amber color. Smells really, really good. Buttery, sweet oaky barrel aged wonderful aroma. Light mouthfeel from carbonation and alcohol. Lightly sweet. Excellent.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from Bu11zeye. Pours darkish hazy brown with no head. Has the nice aroma of dark fruit with bourbon. Full bodied. Flavor is dark fruit, bourbon, oak, rich malt, a little heat. Finishes a little fruity sweet, but the bourbon and oak balance that. Delicious.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at the Croydonia tasting. The pour’s murky brown with a small head. The nose is bourbon. Caramel and vanilla sweetness. Hot wood. Glazed donut. The taste is pretty hot. Weird meat drippings flavor. Strong bourbon. More toffee. Chocolate cake. Quite fizzy. Full body. Overall, strange. Still tasty.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
25cl bottle thanks to Papsø himself :-) Color is dark brown with no head. Why no head? :-( Carbonation is soft and fizzy. Texture is smooth and nice. Taste is low to medium sweet and low bitter. Aroma is high chocolate (nice!), caramel, alcohol, coffee, oak.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Rated on 7-27-2013. This bottled beer pours a very small tan head that fully diminished, opaque body, spotty amounts of lacing, no visible carbonation, and a brown hue. The Aroma is malty, caramel, bourbon, wood, alcohol, and dark fruits. The Taste is malty, bourbon, dark fruits, and the 12%ABV makes it presence known. The Palate is tingly and this is a light-medium bodied beer. Overall, the flavors of this beer did not leave me wanting more which is disappointing since this is one of my favorite beer styles.

3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Murky brown color with almost no head (once it stopped foaming out of the bottle). Intoxicating nose of rich pit fruit, bourbon barrel, oak and vanilla. The taste doesn’t seem to match the aroma. Brown sugar, wet card board, raisins and fruitcake, booze and vanilla and something metallic.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at the Croydonia Tasting, big thanks to Paul for sharing this retired number, 13/07/13. Batch #97.
Dark mahogony/chestnut brown with a very thin beige head.
Nose carries a good bourbon boozey whiff, woody notes, dark toffee, dark fruits, sugars, dates.
Taste comprises brown sugar, dark pitted fruits, stewed prunes, dates, oaky bourbon notes.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, dry finish with a little booze.
Decent enough quad, the alcohol is kept well in check keeping this a most drinkable number.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This bottled brew from a rating party poured a head of no head clear colored bubbles that were fully diminished and left behind a no visible carbonation hazy brown colored body and no lacing. The mild aroma was old ale. The mouth feel was tingly at the start with a mellow finish with a mellow vinous aftertaste. The mild flavor contained notes of old ale and sweet. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.
