Commercial Description:
Bitterhed: 140+ IBU

English: It is hardly a secret that we at Amager Bryghus tend to care for Imperial Stouts - the finest and most noble of all beer styles. Actually, at the brewery we are at all times developing new variants of this noble drink. As always, we tend to add more of everything, which is also the case with this beer: it took no less than eight different malts and three different hops, and we are especially proud to present the king of hops; Zeus. Amager Imperial Stout is a beer as black as original sin itself, topped with the most dense and creamy light brown head. Clear notes of coffee and chocolate, but they appear from the malt exclusively, whereas the scent is rich of vanilla. In all regards Amager Imperial Stout is an extreme beer for the demanding and experienced beer lover, who is not afraid of challenging his senses.

Bottled. Pitch black coloured. Dense light brown head. Lasting. Chocolate, light roast, liqourice spice and coffee in the aroma. Flavour is smooth and full of chocolate, roast, alcohol, brown sugar and spice. Medium to full bodied. Is light dry. Sweetness, coffee and chocolate roast in the end. Very drinkable. Has a nice alcoholwarmth on lips and palate.

[Bottle] shared by Skyview. Pours pitch black with a medium tan head. Aroma is thick. Roasted barley, sweet candi sugar, some milk chocolate, and a little bit of hops. Flavor mimics the aroma with a very nice bitterness on the finish.

Flaske.

Bottle thanks to BrianK for sharing. Pours a dark brown body. Hops and roasty chocolate dominate the nose. Flavor is roasty chocolate and a very noticeable floral hoppiness. Its the darkness of denmark; well not quite. The BA version i enjoyed more.

Opened on my 25th birthday. I was not a huge fan of this beer. Chocolate and roasty background. Pretty hoppy but had a great balance. Not for me.

Bottle at ÅBF08. Good coffee aroma. Black colour, small brown head. The flavour has a lot of barley bitterness, and a nice fresh coffee aftertaste. Too rough bitterness for me. Good grassy aroma hoppiness. Quite distinct alcohol afterburn.

Black color, thin creamy head. The aroma is also a bit cheesy; understated but very nice. It has a good body structure, a balanced mix of flavors, with a touch of liquorice too, nutty; good; just the final is a bit harsh (too yeasty?). Very good beer.
